The IRA were superb amateur city planners - Slab Murphy was a devotee of Le Corbusier, Brian Keenan was a fan of the work of Baron Hausmann, while Brendan Hughes was considerably influenced by the Garden City movement. It led to excellent urban planning debates in the H Blocks.
