I now reckon Mac will get close to 60% on Sunday is up to 57.5% in the latest opinion poll and has gone from 1/7 to 1/25 with PP in the last few days. I think @Cheasty can relax even though I told him it was in the bag before Round 1

I’ll relax if Macron is officially declared the winner.

Which I am far from sure will happen.

It’s done

I think we can probably relax now.

Macron 58.2% according to the exit poll.

58.2% for Mac was a foregone conclusion

Looks like a good oul’ result in Slovenia too.

Le Pen claiming victory.

Her “victory” reminds me of the ones Irish rugby teams used to specialise in in the 1990s.

Macron getting his real answer at the polls yesterday. The centre cannot hold

Who on earth could have guessed US style tax cuts don’t work? Everybody?

As economists have pointed out, it is the sweeping tax cuts of 2019 - lobbied for and cheered on by many corporate and professional groups - that contributed to emptying Sri Lanka’s coffers, and helped bring the nation to this brink.

Mario Draghi has resigned as Italian PM after the Five Star Movement (awkward squad populist eejits) withdrew their support from his coalition.

This is a bad development for Europe.

The italians have been in a political crisis since the end of WW2 is now and ever shall be

From the outside looking in, their latest government has been reasonably stable and moderate.

Things could easily get a hell of a lot worse there. Has big international implications too if it does, especially regarding Ukraine.

I dont think he is gone yet. He is going to try and form a new government with out that 5 star crowd. Standard in Italy. Its setup to be unstable so they wouldnt end up with a mussolini agian

Do they support Roma?

In June, Wajackoyah launched a manifesto that he called the “10 commandments of Freedom”. They included legalising marijuana; rearing snakes and extracting their venom for export; hanging people found guilty of corruption; implementing a four-day work week; and deporting “undesirable” foreigners, particularly the Chinese.

Pretty astonishing footage here as Argentina’s vice-president and former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner miraculously escaped having her head blown off last night after the attempted assassin’s gun jammed. The attempted assassin appears to be a Brazilian neo-Nazi (you can’t even have a Nazi tattoo and attempt to fire a loaded gun in a politician’s face and people call you a Nazi these days).

Did you notice the security detail move away just as the gun was produced?

Sweden have voted against mass uncontrolled immigration and chosen a more right/centric leaning government. Their PM resigns today. Interesting to see the exit polling stats, scary to see the crime/sex crime breakdown stats over the last 10 years there which the reporting of were supressed supposedly.
