[quote=“caoimhaoin”]I think its more about the delusion that Bandage is living in.

That still doesnt fucking make it alright to be going on about Opera Houses.

anyone hear about the brand spanking new Opera House in Wexford?

No.

Mwwwaaaahhhhaaaa.

I think it’s a bit pointless having an Opera House in a town without having an Opera Festival to complement it.

Hang on…Wait a second…Actually, word’s just reached me that Wexford hosts an Opera Festival every October.

Magic.

An Opera House in Wexford is like giving books to the blind.

cant wait for this years festival Bandage. Cheers for the heads up on this years line up too in your sig!

I was thinking of maybe going to oxygen to see Kings of Leon, Killers, Blur etc, but I think I’ll save my money for the Opera as I didnt realise Gaetano Donizetti was going to be performing there this year!

Well, he unfortunately died in 1848, Gman. But I expect his operatic work should indeed grace the world renowned festival. Let’s just hope the artistic director does Maria Padilla justice, says you.

i didnt either…that poor cunt has been dead for 150 years!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

aye, thats what I meant:rolleyes:

Apologies for my misunderstanding Gman. But, I think we’ll both agree that, even though Gaetano is dead, Wexford Opera Festival will bring his work to life.

For that, I am thankful.

Yeah he died in 1848 and his last wishes were to have his life’s work “exposed to people and a town with culture and sophistication that will truly understand my great deeds”. Brings a tear to the eye when you think his wishes will be realised in October in a world class venue and setting.

iv heard Donizetti does a lovely version of ‘Dancing at the Crossroads’, maybe someone could arrange a duet with Larry O Gorman

The man is dead-please refrain from making snide jokes about a true hero to this world.

Larry died!!!

Think Gerry Quinn “lost him” in the woods somewhere.

Hopefully enough people will take the train down from Dublin for his dream to be realised.

Is it true that they have to import urbanites from Dublin for the festival?

the train the opera going folk from across ireland and Europe arrive by Helicopter and town cars no less
