Mugged him right off
I think their punishing schedule over the last few weeks could catch up on them. The Iraqis will be coming in fresh to this one haven shown very little of their hand to date.
Yerra, they will give their best shot but might be too reliant on the minors yet to win the big one. Building for next year.
ISIS wonât launch a full scale offensive on Baghdad. They donât have the numbers to hold a city of itâs size. They will happy enough to grab some more of the kurdish regions around Northern Iraq & Syria and then consolidate that.
But surely that means theyâll be going in cold.
So youâre saying theyâll be happy with provincial success and anything more than that is bonus territory for them?

No point peaking when you should be puking. Theyâve timed this well.
I believe the Iraqis have been strategically withdrawing and implementing a scorched earth policy. Theyâve left nothing but desert behind them.
The ISIS situation is a really dangerous one it must be said. The biggest problem is that they are Salafist, or Wahabbist, which is the most extreme and brutal sect of Sunni Islam. Itâs also the sect adhered to by the House of Saud which is why there are so many connections between Saudi Arabia and militant Islamists everywhere.
All the natural enemies of ISIS are Shia groups whom the Wahabbists would exterminate if they got the chance. This means the Iranians and the likes of Hezbollah who are also traditional enemies of the West. On the other hand, ISIS are more closely aligned with the Saudis who are erstwhile Western allies.
Saudi Arabia is the real problem state in the Middle East, the biggest sponsors of violent fundamentalism and the chief proponents of Wahabbism as well. Apparently wealthy Saudis are financing this ISIS crew too.
They also offer stable oil production though so what can you do?

I think the only thing the west can do (and what it is doing) is stand back and let it play out.
The place is great, the locals are cunts. There isnât a war here though and i donât have a kid.
the humour here is fucking terrible.
@Watch The Break , itâs like this- Jihad and all that muck wasnât around until the CIA and America delivered it to the Muslim nations to over throw Russia and communism- The Yanks have also funded Israel on the other side of this⌠The middle east crisis is an American crisis and young innocent childern are paying for it.
They just donât get it do they pal? Sadly no-one truly âgetsâ you, its a cross you must bear on your muscular well shapen shoulders all your life. Youâll go to the grave carrying the sad, wonderous burden that is your sheer unparralleled magnificence.
I agree. Fuck Cork.
Itâs a British crisis actually. They drew the maps.
ive a load of posts to reply to , i got thru a few via PM but there is one post that is glaringly wrong, @Watch The Break is completely incorrect in saying Saudi Arabia are the biggest funder of terror organisations, they may be a serious contributer but they are nothing compared to Qatar, Qatar virtually own Hamas , they pump millions into them (i would love to see the numbers), they have similar ties with the muslim brotherhood in egypt, FiFA, AlQaeda, , Baracelona FC and ISIS, they also fund that bunch of lunatics âthe free syrian armyâ to overthrow Assad but they were mugged off there
The Israelis think that because of their obsession with Hamas, and because they have typically told the Israelis and the Americans to go fuck themselves when theyâve been asked to stop.
From the Wikileaks US embassy cables:
âQatar has adopted a largely passive approach to cooperating with the U.S. against terrorist financing. Qatarâs overall level of CT cooperation with the U.S. is considered the worst in the region.â
But US State Dept and everyone else for that matter recognises that Saudi donors are the chief financiers of Islamist groups, although the Americans in particular canât say that publicly.
From the same Wikileaks release:
"Due in part to intense focus by the USG over the last several years, Saudi Arabia has begun to make important progress on this front and has responded to terrorist financing concerns raised by the United States through proactively investigating and detaining financial facilitators of concern. Still, donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide. Continued senior-level USG engagement is needed to build on initial efforts and encourage the Saudi government to take more steps to stem the flow of funds from Saudi Arabia-based sources to terrorists and extremists worldwide."
More importantly, Saudi Arabia is the centre of Islamis Wahhabism which is the extreme and brutal interpretation of Islam adopted by the Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and lately ISIS. Without Saudi Arabian support these groups donât exist as anything resembling a significant threat.
