Shots fired. Police entered the building.
Who fired the shots?
Unclear. The Aussies definitely fired most of them but not sure if the other fella started it. Sky News are speculating wildly. Man on now says it was an emergency action necessitated because there was a threat from the hostage taker. 6+ hostages escaped.
Itâs not even clear if theyâve killed your man yet.
Your one on Sky news just speculated your man would be becoming irrational due to hunger and low sugar levels. Obviously wonât have thought of eating some of the chocolate in the cafe then.

Siege over.
The guy that took them hostage was known for sending hate letters to the families of Australian soldiers
What a load of shite.
ISIS sweeps the boards at 2014 World Marketing Awards
ISIS has swept the boards at the annual World Marketing Awards (WMAs) in London, winning seven of the prized âGolden Shillâ statuettes, more than any other brand.
The WMAs, considered the Oscars of the marketing world, were dominated by the new powerhouse of the global terror industry, a stunning rise to prominence for a brand unheard of less than a year ago.
ISIS picked up the gongs for Best Brand, Best Breakthrough Brand, Best Digital Marketing Campaign, Best Marketing Innovation, Best Brand Awareness, Best Advertising Slogan (Allahu Akhbar) and Best Regional Brand (Middle East).
ISIS Director of Public Relations, Jihadi John , accepted the awards via a series of recorded video messages from somewhere in the Iraq/Syria desert.
Speaking in a heavily distorted voice, he declared: âThe world of marketing is a cut-throat one. Itâs important to keep your head while others around you are losing theirs, and thatâs exactly what we have done. And now, we will behead these Golden Shill statuettes one by one unless our demands are met. Over to you, Mr. Obama and Mr. Cameron. Allahu Akhbar.â
âTheir strategy has been quite brilliantâ, said World Marketing Association President Sir Brandon Zucker. "They have forced their way into the worldâs public consciousness in a way not seen since Al Qaeda over a decade ago. They are the msters of attention. You can love them or hate them, but you can never ignore them. And thatâs what itâs all about. "
âThey have brought a real cutting edge to everything theyâve done. A year ago they were unknowns. Now they are the number one brand in the global terror industry. They are now the Google, the Microsoft and the Apple all rolled into one. They are young, fresh, vigourous, dangerous, glamourous and with a certain air of mystique about them. Itâs a potent brew. Where are Al Qaeda now? They are like Nokia - all but gone, seen as staid and conservative in comparison. And others will follow if ISIS keeps up its current growth.â
âEven the name suggests coolâ, continued Zucker. âPeople hear it and think gangsta. The âISIS, ISIS, Babyâ digital media campaign worked brilliantly. The hoods, guns and knives reinforce that air of gangsta chic.â
âThatâs not to say they donât have things to work on. Their public relations and customer care services can certainly improve, but that will no doubt come in time.â
ISIS yesterday announced its entry into the Australian market, bringing Sydney to a standstill, and says it is confident of further worldwide growth over the next year. An ISIS app for all digital platforms is due out in January.
âTheyâve been the undoubted star turn of the yearâ, concluded Zucker. âItâs a tremendous success story and weâre delighted to be associated with it.â
Two people dead, one believed to be the gunman, says the Herald Sun. One hostage dead and others injured, says the Sydney Morning Herald.
any abbos in it?
The Abbo took my advice as expected and decided to storm the building
What do abbos and bicycles have in common?
They both stop working when the chain comes off.
Been a strange reaction to the whole incident there. Some of the bogans are out in force telling all the Muslims and foreign looking people to fuck off out of their country. And others are making a huge effort to be PC about it all. Could have been a lot worse I suppose. After yer man down in port Arthur and the people he killed in the cafe there, shows how bad it could have been.
Picture of the guy who did it tooâŚ
Kevin shouldnât have ignored him
Iâve seen or heard very very little of the anti muslim / anti immigration bogan brigade. A woman we know (admittedly she is a fruitloop) posted on FB yesterday about deporting all muslims. She was shot down in seconds by dozens of people and removed the post (then she posts this shite about her hubbie, a cop, being called into Sydney to help and how scared she was and what would she tell her kids if he was killed. He was doing traffic duties FFS, stupid cow).
Terrible outcome, but I thought the NSW Police handled the whole situation very well. Throughout the day they kept the public updated to the extent that they could, but in a calm and considered way, never any alarmist or dramatic language and that contributed to the sense of calm (with concern) about the place yesterday. People were very tolerant of any inconvenience, I spoke to one client who works on George St, opposite Martin Place and he got home very late as a result, but as he said, that or the pretty horrendous day he had organising staff doesnât matter. The #illridewithyou thing was great to see and really contributed to the general feeling that people do not want this to become a divisive situation.
One thing that was pretty disappointing was people taking selfies at the police lines, some people even rocking up with beers in hand and settling in for some entertainment. Pretty pathetic behaviour. But in general, the Sydney publicâs reaction and handling of this has been very positive and has surprised me. Something good to take out of an horrendous situation.

some lovely well thought out arguments there.
as I said, I just found it a strange reaction, and seems 50-50 on the haters/PC people from any social media crap or talking to people there and their thoughts on it.
The Taliban have attacked a school in Pakistan today and killed about 85 kids.
surely pakistan should declare war on the taliban

the police fucked up mate, 2 people dying is a terrible result
From what Iâve read some lad in the cafe tried to grab the gun and thatâs when shots were fired and the cops legged it in.
Should have shot the cunt in the head as soon as the snipers came in. But I think heâd said he had planted bombs all over the city or some such.
