Ireland politics (Part 1)

I would like to publicly change my opinion on Alan Kelly. While he remains a redneck gombeen, I have been impressed with his work on housing and the shambles that is Uisce Eireann.

Yeah he’s done well in the last few weeks. Himself and Varadkar have been the top of the class since the reshuffle.

Hardly a glowing endorsement considering the pair of cunts they took over their portfolios from.

Indeed, it’s indicative of the nightmare the last 6 months have been for the government.

Enda won’t like that. Moving Varadkar to Health was an attempt to soften his cough and make less attractive as a potential new leader.

Poll out tomorrow morning in the Irish Times, and it’s utterly grim for the coalition:
Ind/Others 32% (+9)
Sinn Féin 22% (-2)
Fianna Fáil 21% (+1)
Fine Gael 19% (-5)
Labour 6% (-3)
I would not be surprised if this causes serious ructions within the government, and particularly within FG. Backbenchers can smell defeat and will do anything to keep hold of their seat. Kenny is now unstable. Sinn Fein will probably be pleased, they’re marginal loss will be lost in the FG drop and Ind/Oth gain, though they will have to address what appears to be an inablility to break through their current ceiling. FF can pack it in at this stage if they can only pickup 1 point when FG/Lab drop a combined 8. Labour are completely fucked, no matter what they do, they’ll find it tough to see double digits before the next GE. Polling needs to change also, Ind/Others is too broad a grouping for there to be any proper analysis of what the huge number means.

Ind/others is just a cop out selection from those polled.

Someone else, someone else
I’m someone else.

These are normally individuals too embarrassed to say that they are voting FG or FF.

Its well known that Mick Wallace got in on the back of disgruntled FG and FF Wexford people too stubborn to vote for the other party.

What’s today’s scandal?

I doubt he’d even get half the first pref votes again. What we need in Wexford is a good GAA candidate we can get behind. Larry O’Gorman or Stoney Burke would be perfect.

Stoney Burke:clap:

brother larry would have a fast rise, and an even quicker decline i suspect

Most of the ‘alleged’ children he fathered in 1996 will be 18 by the time of the election so that’ll make things easier.

Martin is a smoked salmon socialist, who would have guessed that !

I like his priority list…

Promote rural living.
