Ireland politics (Part 1)

Creighton’s husband was on Newstalk this morning and sounded like an utter simpleton.

Fuck I hate that two fifteen shots… How hard is it to say twenty?

I was reading before that they were united in their love of Michael Bolton. Nuff said.

All I’ve heard for the last week is what a professional and brilliant back room team Renua had put together. So brilliant they apparently forgot to secure a facebook page before they launched - https://www.facebook.com/renuaireland?pnref=story

Terence Flanagan TD was interviewed by Mary Wilson at around 5.30/5.45

Car crash stuff. Aside from the rummaging of papers and repeating the question he had nothing to say.

Eventually, she just finished the interview saying we will come back to it again sometime. It was woeful stuff.

She gave him every chance and was very nice to him. Someone like Vincent Browne would have destroyed him for having absolutely no knowledge of his brief (whatever that’s meant to be) and for having no preparation done and a complete inability to make a point.

God, it’s awful.

Fucking hell.

I just saw this Eton educated toff on the news and apparently he’s part of the renewal process as well - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Irwin

I see on the talk section of his Wikipedia page his daughter is having a blazing row with moderators over their failure to understand why she has added several paragraphs on her father’s pedigree and genealogy.

Eddie Hobbs on the news saying that public sector salaries are a large reason why the economy crashed.

If a party fronted by Eddie Hobbs gains power, I will dedicate the rest of my life to restoring British control of this country.

This party seems to be woefully ill-conceived. They should have aborted the idea.

Wahey!

Sympathise with him there to be honest. Clearly had bit of a breakdown and was not able to think coherently. Can happen to people and would be unfair to make judgement on him based solely on that.

Not at all. He’s my local TD and he’s a pure simpleton. I set the dog on him when he called to the door at the last election. Shaking collection buckets down at Superquinn is the very limit of his talents.

Indeed.

Flanagan regrets copying Burton’s speech

I’m no fan of his and certainly no fan of his politics. I suspect he wasn’t right in that clip though, stress took over and could not cope.

I’m with @Raymond Crotty on this one. I don’t find it amusing, it was sad to listen to. I have no doubt he’s capable of better but had himself badly worked up, i suppose he was under savage pressure to make a good impression for the new party.

FFS sake, lads. They’ve been setting up the party for months on the basis of politics in Ireland needing wholesale reform. Yet he couldn’t come up with some basic answers about what they stand for. He deserves absolute ridicule. Not everything has to come back to anxiety.
