Ireland politics (Part 1)

What on earth are you on about?

Yeah, but the problem is theyā€™d be on plots of land in the middle of nowhere where nobody wants to live, and be part of some tax wheeze

Agreed Iā€™m going to vote for FG one more time and then FF twice more after that. but if I donā€™t see changes after that Iā€™m done with them both

Housing is going to be the key issue that forms the narrative that will drive change at the next election - change from a government where 50 Fine Gaelers are propped up by 44 Fianna Failers to a government where 50 Fianna Failers are propped up by 44 Fine Gaelers

22:25 - Survived by 3 votes (56 v 53) 35 abstentions.

22:27 - SF have asked for a manual vote because they donā€™t trust electronic voting and it has passed. Manual vote currently ongoing.

22:35 Final result of manual vote is unchanged:

  • TĆ” (supports vote of no confidence) 53
  • NĆl (against vote of no confidence) 56
  • Abstained 35

TDā€™s who abstained/were absent that were not Fianna FĆ”il:

  • SeĆ”n Ɠ FearghĆ”il (Ceann Comhairle)
  • Simon Coveney (FG)
  • Michael Fitzmaurice (IND)
  • Thomas Pringle (IND)

TDā€™s who had confidence who were not Fine Gael:

  • Sean Canney (IND)
  • Noel Grealish (IND)
  • John Halligan (IND)
  • Michael Lowry (IND)
  • Finian McGrath (IND)
  • Kevin Moran (IND)
  • Denis Naughten (IND)
  • Shane Ross (IND)
  • Katherine Zappone (IND)

All other TDs outside of FG/FF and above voted in support of no confidence.

Micheal Martin has essentially said he doesnā€™t care about homeless children here. Like he also said he didnā€™t care about McCabe being smeared. The people should remind their FF of this next summer. His confidence and supply thing has ended but heā€™s still playing both sides. What sort of a backward country has it that the removal of a completely unsuitable minster MUST mean a general election?

U ok hun?

Youā€™re a bigger eejit tbf.

According to UN Ireland enjoys the third highest quality of life in the world

Unless you need a hospital or health related help. Or a school for your non catholic child. Or A home to buy if you are a lower / middle income earnerā€¦ or a home to rent if you are lower / middle income earner ā€¦ Or if you require public transport to get around the countryā€¦ or in cost of living versus average working wage ā€¦
