Ireland politics (Part 1)

The one downside to this entire matter.

Tuesday 8th May - Mick Wallace calls for Shatter to resign
Wednesday 9th May - Shatter resigns

Mick Wallace is not to be messed with.

Looks like it will be Charlie Flanagan or Frances Fitzgerald to replace Shatter. In spite of his ridiculous shenanigans, he was a very capable minister and it would be a great shame if his excellent legislative agenda was taken apart by a gombeen like Flanagan. Ideally a legal eagle would be given the spot, but Fitzgerald wouldn’t be a bad lay person either, at least she might have some inclination to continue the progressive agenda.

Oliver J will smile down proudly when Charlie takes over the hot seat

Frances Fitzgerald is as lazy as sin.

Charlie has gone from 14/1 in an hour

I’m not a great fan of hers either, but in fairness she’s done a decent job in a portfolio that is very hard to make any impression in. Would be a better appointment that Flanagan anyway.

Charlie has failed the audition

Give it to Leo

Absolutely. Replacing a Jew and all.

Fitzgerald shouldnt be let anywhere near it after the childrens referendum fiasco

Mick Wallace on the Six-One news now.

Calling it a fiasco overstates what happened. It was undoubtedly an error on the Department, but as was ruled in court, had no material impact on the result on a referendum which was so routine it was treated with apathy by everyone except tin foil hat loonies.

Shatter seems a sound oul skin judging by his political opponents comments in the past couple of hours.

A good man hunted out by a tax fraud and his cock sucking whore
daged? mptions?

are these some humberside colloquialisms you are trying to force on the forum dickface?
A fiasco in that between the offensive materials and the court case, the country got lumped with a bill in excess of 5 million that we dont have.

One of Alana constituents says he’s ‘shattered’.

Who’s alana and what constituency does she represent?

No harm. His loyalty lay with big business and the law library, he was throwing passports out like confetti too. Any chance a minister for justice whos not a pompous ‘legal eagle?’ Fitzgerald never comes across well on tv.
