Ireland politics (Part 2)

Shower of cunts. Cunts of the highest order. Just above cunts who vote for them.

bye bye labour

Aodhán, the local councillor that looks like David Baddiel (cc @Juhniallio) and a few party activists were knocking on doors in my area on Saturday. I turned down the opportunity to ask AOR why he didn’t go for the leadership this time or to press him on any other national or international issues. Instead I asked him about the new educate together school and the possibility of bulldozing down that Royal British Legion building in Killester.

It’s done. She will be the only nominee.

itll be the death knell of labour, even with the majority of the media fully behind her

Bring a labour and social democrat merger a step nearer?

It’s a very strange move. Any seat won in a by-election, as hers was, will be under serious pressure in a General. She’ll be doing very well to even retain it.

Id say between SDs and the shinners, therell be no vote or reason for labour. identity politics aint gonna pay the bills or get them elected

especially given the total SNAFU that the blueshirts and shinners made of that bye election. they wont make the same mistake twice

Agreed.

Social Democrats need to give Gary Gannon the top job before the next election.

The knowledgeable voters of Dublin Bay South gave Bacik a resounding mandate.

yeah, eoghan murphy, eamonn ryan, ivana and jim ocallaghan.

Labour have completely forgotten what they are about. SF & PBPABC or whatever they are now have competley gobbled them up on the working man side. They’ve moved for the woke vote now, but the Soc Dems have that tied up and are better than them at it.
A vote for labour is a vote for what at this stage does anyone know? Do they know?

How many seats would labour be likely to get at general election?
SF and the PBP etc would seem to have the “working class vote” sown up

Sherlock is probably the only one that’s absolutely safe. Smith, O Riordáin and Ged Nash should also be reasonably ok. Bacik will be in serious bother and Kelly probably won’t run.

Hard to see where any potential gains will come from. Limerick and Kildare look lost for the forseeable and there isn’t much out west or in the midlands either.

A series of big hitters. Political heavyweights. Not to mention Sexy Kate and Der Kaiser. A proper constituency.

no marks, wastrels and unelectables elsewhere.

AoR should be absolutely safe. Nash i would hope so cos i think hes genuinely good. Smith got in by the skin of his teeth last time as last seat in a 5 seater. He is by no means safe. And there may well be constituency changes. Wall in Kildare was very unlucky last time as constituency was squeezed by o fearghail getting auto election as ceann comhairle. Would hope hed get in.
New seats will only come as they always have, hardworking local councillors who make an impression and suddenly do enough to get elected.
No hope against sf alright but sf will eat more into pbp etc now than last time.

Whichever one of Kellys councillors in North Tipp area closely aligned to him will have a good chance if they run instead of him too if imagine.

But, will Kelly definitely walk away for good or run as an Independent is the key question.
