Ireland politics (Part 2)

I dont think SF wouldn’t have wasted the money the same way. Maybe a different contractor aligned to them to screw the state

Of course contracts can be changed. Don’t be stupid.

Renegotiated. Ideally from a position of strength.

Yeah, I know that and guess it’s easy to just disagree with everything. They never seem too sure on what they would have done differently.

I think if heads rolled as they should in all these scandals then SF would have nothing to offer. Heads don’t roll in Ireland however and that’s what needs to change.

That’s not the purpose of a well functioning opposition

The politicians have very little to do with the running of the country.

i.e. Donnelly is a moron but he has basically nothing whatsoever to do with running the HSE.

A bit rich considering FFG was in power the whole time there was industrial levels of child abuse going on in schools etc but not one of the fuckers knew a thing
Or maybe the fact that FFG have never enforced the sweetheart deal that the church got to settle the child abuse cases with the state picking up the tab

Therein lies the problem. A minister should be able to fire any civil servant or face the chop themselves.
Politics is a good circus but a costly one and halving the number of tds would be a good start.

Whats that adjusted in real terms?

Totally disagree with that.

Ok comrade.

So why are you bringing up the Catholic Church on a topic with them?

I take it you’ve boycotted everything to do with the Church now to prove a point?

I thought we were all supposed to be “moving on” or is that the preserve of SF atrocities?

Apparently dead religious orders members are more relevant than today.

The fact that you can’t call out this stuff reflects incredibly badly on your character

Call out which stuff? The industrial schools were horrific.

Now tell me how many of those people are alive and with a major role in Irish society today?

That doesn’t matter. What matters is the sweetheart deal has never been enforced

Of course it matters.

Are you really more concerned about the Church than a paedo being moved to another public fronting parish?

A minister should be able to fire a civil servant for what? Who should it be? Secretary of the department of health? Head of the hse? Sure it’s not that long since we got a new head of health and a new head of the hse. How long should they be given to effect change before they should be fired?

One case of moving a pedo is a bad look for the shinners. Wholesale movement of pedo priests for several years with none in authority shouting stop is an infinitely worse look
