Too many ordinary people want and support corruption. They want and support corrupt politicians like Lowry. They don’t want competent and serious government, they want an entertaining spectacle, to be laughed at like a Jackass video. That’s the sad fact of it.

It’s a right old snub for Mary Butler and the ‘People of Waterford’. She was widely tipped for senior cabinet. For gender balance as much as anything with Niamh Smyth maybe an outside threat.

James Browne though a surprise appointment. Wexford getting one over on Waterford.
