Ireland politics (Part 3)

I hear only 2 army drivers are available to drive any of the 6 heavy tow trucks that they have in their fleet.

Hopefully the General with all the badges can roll up his sleeves and has the requisite certs and license

Back about 2020 lapsed poster Boxtyeater referenced getting 1000 ltr of kerosene at some border/dodgy trading post when the cost of the kerosene there was 25c per litre.

2 months ago kerosene was available under €1 per litre and now it’s practically €2 per litre. Changed times….

Meanwhile in Derrylin kerosene is €1.18 to take away….Something is out of kilter…

The Meek shall inherit illiteracy

Eamonn won’t be troubling the adjudicators of the famed literary prize in honour of Francis McManus anytime soon.
Despite his illiterate ramblings I managed to see the nasty, xenophobic thoughts bubbling around where the brain is found in most people.

This fella looks like he’s experiencing severe economic hardship. Only the 8 John Deere’s. 6 at the protest and 2 at home ā€˜doing a few bits’.

Is he driving all 8 himself? I presume he only has to insure one of them to cover all 8? And every other cost involved in running a business.

He may not be on the breadline but that’s some assumption to say his business isn’t being badly affected … who’s to say he’s not faced with letting a driver or two go?

No.

But they’re putting smal clothes shops and hair dressers and other small businesses at unnecessary loss with their tomfoolery.

I said he was not suffering severe economic hardship and looking at the well fed head on him I’d say that assumption is correct. There are hundreds of thousands of people on the breadline in this country and he’s not one of them. Fuck him and his 8 tractors.

IRHA is basically a union for Hauliers with massive fleets of trucks, they got some leverage at last meeting.

IFA stood in the Bord Bia lobby for a month, they’re not a serious organisation.

The vast majority of tractors on display are related to Agri or Plant Hire contractors who possibly farm land also. They’re getting fleeced and can’t pass it all onto the farmers as they can only pay so much also.

The owner driver haulier and bus operator are caught in fixed contracts and getting fleeced with fuel costs and are working basically to depreciate the vehicles.

My only big issue with the protest is lack of spokespersons.
They should have approached like minded Independent TD’s or Senators from the five regions, West, South, East, Midlands & Northern counties to be the face of the protest.
Letting gobshites in the Government & Media call them out as being non negotiable with because of lack of leadership is a major flaw.

Lastly, the leadership of our Government have acted scandalously towards decent hard working tax paying citizens.
To call them despicable, to call upon the Army to intervene against peaceful protests is as ugly as it gets.

For Covid they could close the nation but they refuse to help downtrodden citizens and look on as businesses fail and go under.
