Ireland v Belgium and Lithuania (separate matches)

The U19s mangaed to turn a 1 goal advantage in the 75th minute into a 4-1 loss to Portugal. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Mediocre line by Rob Hawthorne there.

Will Keane looking to land a decisive blow tonight, somewhat like another Will in Hollywood the other night. Too forced for my liking.

Ogbene with a good finish but disallowed for offside. Excellent play by Robinson and Manning. I like how Ogbene gets into central goal scoring areas from a wide starting position.

We’re all over these cunts

That deteriorated quite sharply after a bright opening 10-15 minutes. Ireland have been sloppy on the ball and Lithuania have offered nothing. They’re just sitting in and defending and we haven’t been good enough to create anything.

A dreadful half in fairness. Manning in particular looks devoid of any ability.

This isn’t very inspiring

They’ve woken up. Doherty has been better the last few weeks both for the country and club.

Hourihane will shoot on sight for the rest of the game now

Great to see Kenny giving some inexperienced players a try as he brings on James McClean for his 90th cap

McClean is about 30 caps over the hill at this stage.

I would have liked to see Kenny keep a similar team to Saturday tonight. A consistent team at international level, especially for smaller countries, is very important in my view.

Fair to say it didn’t go too well for Manning and Keane tonight. A bit better in the second half with Doherty and Ogbene instigating most of the positive stuff.

A Chris Morris special from Doherty.

Poor by McClean

Oh a third disallowed goal.

Parrott too slow to release the ball.

Manning is still on the pitch. Must be O’Shea who went off. I must up my concentration levels.

Timed the ball to perfection! Far too slow releasing it

How’s Scott Hogan doing this season? I’d have an Obafemi or a Scully in before him at this stage.

Actually it seems Hogan is having a decent enough season in the championship for Birmingham.

He had to give that to McClean as he was bombing into the space instead of using him as a decoy and then giving it to him after he’d gone offside. McClean’s going full pelt and can’t just stop abruptly.

Browne is a trier and he makes good runs into the box (see Saturday). But Christ he’s an untidy footballer, poor touch and lots of misplaced passes.

Robinson is a bit of a dick, I think.

Very little of any quality on show tonight from Ireland. Just good old fashioned honest endeavour.
