Ireland v Denmark 18/11/2019

And not a very good footballer

No mate, they’ve to win two more games to qualify

When the oirish soccer team beats anything more than a pub team come back to me. How long is the game being played in small pockets of the country and they are utterly clueless and skill free

I thought just about every statelet within a thousand miles of Brussels was in the euros this time. There’s back doors in the back doors.

It’s a farce really. If a team as useless as ireland still has multiple chances to qualify that says it all. Money grab getting as many teams in as possible, with half of them having no business being there

If only twas a sport that about twenty countries in the whole world played, then we could get into tournaments a bit easier

How’d you reckon

The soccer types are just obsessed with the Ireland rugby team. Final whistle goes tonight in the soccer against Denmark and they’re on the soccer thread here straight away just mad to talk about the Ireland rugby team.

97 years?

They can lose or draw one of the two and still go through by virtue of result in the other game

Of course, but im no rugby defender despite what the boys think here.

The rugby and soccer team share remarkable similarities really. Very average at their sports, doughty strugglers who can’t do anything creative, wildly overrated by the media.

Thank God for hurling

We played well tonight; brought a decent tempo, good pressing. Probably lacked a bit of quality in around the box. McGoldrick is a nuisance but likes to come get involved, I wonder if we could support him better? I don’t think Hendrick is the answer in that role, he’s better deeper.

Having said that, was it a better performance than Vienna or Cardiff? Need to back it up with a couple more similar performances now. I actually thought we were alright in Copenhagen too but the performances against Switzerland and Georgia were disappointing.

Great effort throughout. Lads are loons about Doherty. Brilliant for the goal and Ireland’s most creative player apart from didsy. He just has to play. I dont care if its instead of or with Coleman. Mcgoldrick was immense. Brilliant, with fuck all support. McClean is a legend but is done at this level. Antonio Valencia like in his inability to put a cross in. Much improved willingness to play out of defence and try to work it but Hourihane, Browne and Hendrick offered fuck all and we really really need some pace in the team for whoever we play. McClean is lightning fast when chasing back a mistake or to put in a tackle but seems not to have the pace to go by lads anymore, which is a bit weird. Duffy is a legend but fuck me he was poor for the goal.

This is most unbecoming

Could Eire qualify @LionelRitchie by winning just one more match from here or even without winning any , via the lottery?

Is that not a shocking indictment? A sport that dublin and a few other places like to think they’ve a real tradition in, 30 years past Italy 90 and hoof it and put em under pressure is still the only tactic? How come they haven’t coached up a generation who grew up in that 30 years to play it well. Iceland did in a fraction of that time.

McLean would be world class if there wasn’t a ball.
