This isnāt football manager
Bringing him in at HT was a master stroke
Good news that weāve won a game at last. Excluding Gibraltar, when was the last win?
Friendly against Latvia last year.
This is being thrown around a lot. Heās scored 2 hattricks in the last 3 games of the season. His goal total for the season was 10. So he scored 4 goals in the other 22 games. Seems like a lot of recency bias / rose tinted glasses in the reporting on this.
Edit - and looking further back over the 3 seasons beforehand heās got 13 goals in 90 odd games which seems about right to his norm. Take out the hattricks and heās a striker averaging a goal every 5 games against League 1 standard teams. Maybe Iām wrong but I donāt think heās going to be the answer to our goal scoring challenges.
Scored 17 for the season I think? The relegation play-off goals didnāt count towards his tally that you looked up on Wiki. 10 actual league goals in the Eredivisie and those 6 play-off goals that you mention. Actually 7 goals in 4 play-off games to inflate his figures.
Ok, thatās a more positive picture then. Fuck Wikipedia
Heās a lot to prove yet. A lot.
Parrot only 22?
This appointment is crucial. We canāt afford to get it wrong and miss out on Euro 2028 as well. Spock under a little bit of pressure at Patās already. 1 win in 5 but Iām sure heās actually focusing on Mason Meliaās gametime or something arbitrary like that.
Even 10 goals in the normal season isnāt bad, considering it took him time to break into the team. 10 in 1588 minutes is better than a goal every 2 games.
Obviously, you take the level into account but at least heās scoring goals and playing some decent sides even if his crowd were struggling.
I wouldnāt touch OāShea with a barge poll. Szmodics and Azaz on the wings when they are 2 central players in form. Duffy starting, warnings signs are in place.
Parrot was on the verge of pissing his career away. Heās halted the slide but heās not rising yet. Connollyās tale should be a cautionary one for him.
Its not a bad tally for a side struggling. Many of reasons teams find themselves in relegation trouble is they dont have a striker that can score more than 10-15 goals a season and struggle to create chances. Everton a classic in the genre.
There were lads on YBIG outraged that Mourinho didnāt have Parrott in the Spurs team in 2019.
Probably Perez2017 and the Off The Ball crew.
You canāt play everyone in the middle
Theyāre not cheap to me baby
Lovely goal by Idah. Nice to see a player get on the end of a cross and score with a thumping header.
