Sheridan is a funny guy.

Portugal away next. Not including the pointless Qatar game.

We were much stronger too. I remember being rightly pissed off after it at the time. But this is much worse

Spock out.

Iā€™m crying here.

Have to hold my hands up, backed Kenny all the way but utterly dreadful. As bad as anything under Trapatoni, Oā€™Neill and McCarthy. Stevens and Browne were beyond dreadful.

That was Kennyā€™s 9th game. Thatā€™s a fair amount in international football for there to be no progress.

The ā€œplayers we were missingā€ excuse is nonsense tonight. Bazunu is fine in goal so itā€™s basically just John Egan, a centre half

Youā€™re a stupid fucker in fairness so we can forgive you.

That was the time Jack took the team to some all you can eat fish restaurant on the eve of the game. Polster, the long haired striker, destroyed us.

A 0-0 draw at home to Iceland with Roy Keane playing centre half was seen as a disastrous result at the time.

Thatā€™s a bit bit rich coming from an Ireland fan.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: youā€™re a gas man

Iā€™m off to watch Murder on the orient express on film 4

Iā€™m the same. And was cross with those who didnā€™t back Kenny. Iā€™m not too proud to say I was wrong.

Ah thatā€™s dismal.

Didnā€™t think the Clark change worked. I think heā€™s crap but we lost our shape then defensively and never really got it back.

Taking Collins off at the end while we were throwing balls into their box didnā€™t make much sense either.

But it isnā€™t really about the subs. Itā€™s the predictable passing patterns and the slow pace of the build up that is probably most concerning.

We donā€™t really look good in any facet of play. Our most creative players give it away a lot. Play one and they look isolated. Play Browne and Brady and we look overrun a bit. Most of our chances seem to arrive on Browneā€™s head.

Our other midfielders are tidy but ineffective on the ball. Again you see glimpses from Knight and Cullen but their default setup seems too negative and passive. Everything unfolding in front of them and the movement in front of the back 4 is good but we donā€™t have any drive to get forward with or off the ball.

Our defence is poor. Duffy has had a horrible season at Celtic but you donā€™t see individual performances there that look like he doesnā€™t deserve to play given what heā€™s done for Ireland.

The players arenā€™t great but thereā€™s nothing to suggest an improvement or any sort of progression in what weā€™re doing. We shouldnā€™t look technically inferior to Luxembourg, especially when thatā€™s the type of game weā€™re trying to play.
