Ireland v Luxembourg - the Piles Derby

There you have it. And everyone screaming for Kenny to be gone. We havenā€™t the players and heā€™s had an unquantifiable run of bad luck. People forget quickly how bad we were under the last three managers.

Money coming for Mattress Mick.

That was my point and my question.

We qualified or came close to qualifying under all 3 for tournaments

Itā€™s the perfect storm.

Weakest group of players in decades, a rookie manager, an association in turmoil who are also flat broke.

Ah we were still in contention to qualify for Euro 2004 on the last day of the campaign. Euro 2008 we lost the opening two games against Germany and Cyprus before a promising young defender named Paul McShane made his debut in a 1-1 home draw with Czech Republic.

This isnā€™t a circle jerk or rubby, Itā€™s a results business.

Exactly. And lads laying it all on Kenny.

Ireland at the moment is a combination of shit players and a shit manager.

Hence we lost at home to Luxembourg.

Stephen Kenny is a smelly aul 80 year old hookerā€™s cunt, dripping with homeless menā€™s cum.

I agree that we donā€™t have much in the way players. Certainly creatively. But do we have players that could beat Luxembourg?

We looked dangerous when we were pumping crosses in the box? Would a more pragmatic approach have worked?

The players for what? To qualify? Yes fair enough but to say that our level is 10 games without a win and without even a 30 minutes spell of decent football in that time is not true.

Kenny simply isnā€™t up to it and I would think that a half decent coach would get a lot more out of us.

Think we need to merge this thread with the irish politics, the Corona thread, the leo varadkar thread and the live line thread.

Go back to your rubby threads ffs.

Agreed. We certainly donā€™t have the players to consistently break down teams with intricate moves but we do have players that can put in decent crosses

McCarthy got the same group of players into the Euro play offs, MON and Keane got us to the Euros, Trap got us to the Euros.

Exactly.

Finland and Luxembourg mopped the floor with us in our own back yard.

Weā€™re going no whereā€¦ 10 games is 2 years worth of international football in old money, get him the fuck out now.

Anyone want a handy like to make themselves feel a little better?
Iā€™m handing them out like fuck for congratulatory messages.

Theyā€™ll try and draw parallels with Michael Oā€™ Neillā€™s first campaign with Northern Ireland where they lost to Luxembourg too and struggled big time before a dramatic upturn in the next campaign to qualify for Euro 2016.

That is some strike in fairness
