Scottish midfielders, McGregor, Gilmour, McTominay, McGinn, Christie, Jack, Ferguson, Armstrong all start for Ireland. Huge gulf in class. There must surely be a few candidates that are a shot to nothing to give them the end of this campaign, surely? Duffy has been mentioned as a possible, would he drop the LOI and take it on a short term offer?
Scottish centre backs are Porteous of Watford and Jack Hendry of Al Ettifaq. Really top players there. Ryan Christie doesn’t even start for Bournemouth. Che Adams is rubbish, they rotate him with Lyndon Dykes

Bit harsh to ask Shane Duffy to player manager you’d feel.
Porteous and Hendry are easily as good Duffy and Egan.Scott McKenna plays in Premier league. You are forgetting Kieran Tierney. Only area we are stronger is Ferguson up front. Adams way better than Idah.
Scotland are much better than us. Not long ago they beat Spain 2-0, something we wouldn’t dream of right now.
Sure we beat Italy and Germany under previous managements but it wasn’t good enough for the likes of Perez because we didn’t play triangles.
