Will there be more changes for Thursday evenings clash at Lansdowne Road?
Will Egan, Scales, and Azaz come back in? I’d keep Manning and Moylan in the starting 11, Kitching did well, but would have Egan back in there.
I actually tried to join the peoplesrepublicofcork forum a few months ago to see if @Corksfinedtboy was about but they seem to have rejected my membership application.
If we got a draw here it would be huge. We could take a 3 point hit if we decided not play the konk noses and be in a decent place with Kosovo still to come to Dublin.
What are the actual benefits here in terms of doing well in the group. Outside of promotion to Group A (not sure its a good idea, think B actually suits this team)
Is there benefits in terms of qualification to major tournaments etc? Didnt it help Sweden recently?
I messaged Corkie last evening as I noticed him not being around here. Got a reply at 5am and he had half a days work done. He’s up the walls with the job.
Wins are good for ranking/seeding as the lads said. The play-off fallback is considered less important for this renewal of the Nations League as 2 Euro 2028 slots are reserved for host nations. All 4 hosts - Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales - will still try to qualify from groups as normal. If we make a balls of that we’d still get a tournament slot if two of the other three qualify by right. We would need the play-off fallback if only one or none qualify automatically.
Thanks. I’m thinking we don’t want to be in Group A next time and that would make qualifying for the 2030 WC harder.
2nd in this group would be ideal? 2nd seeds for qualifying for Euros and Group B better for WC
