Hoolahan did well there but I think Ray might be overstating the vision required to spot Long in acres of space right in front of him.
You could have driven a truck through where he played that ball.

Sadly we’ll not see a player of Robs ability and passion in an Ireland shirt for some time.

Coleman has been very lively down the right
McGeady and Houlahan have been good on the ball and looking to be positive
We have been somewhat threatening on the counter

McCarthy is letting yet another game pass him by

We certainly seem to be more energetic in out play compared to the Trap era. Looking to counter at pace and press Serbia in their half. We still look very poor and are chasing shadows when they decide to get the ball down and put a few passes together, even with the extra man in midfield
As I type Serbia pretty much walk the ball into the Irish net to level it.

That quite sadly sums up Long. Get into the positions, but his finishing and decision making lets him down.
Great ball from Houlahan but that is terrible from Long. All the time in the world. He should have a hattrick
