Ireland v Wales - March 24th 2017

He was very shaky early on in the season(scored 2 OGs?) But he has settled in well at Brighton now and has become a very important player for them and with Rafa coaching Clark at Newcastle we could have two solid centre halves playing in the Premiership next season.

Clark has been one of Newcastle’s best players this season. Slab is doing well lately too

O’Shea has been very solid recently. I’d have no qualms about him coming in… still by far our most composed defender.

I’m heading to this. Haven’t been at an Ireland match since the Croatia game in Poland in 2012 (bandwagoner)

Any tickets going for this?

@Bandage?

Just use your season card, pal.

do the shake the shamrock brigade have to give up their tickets to LOI regulars such as myself?

if so ill take your ticket bandage

Was half promised a ticket for this off a friend a few months back but speaking to him last week there’s still no sign of it actually materialising.

What are the chances of picking one up around the ground prior to KO for anything close to face value? Slim to none I’m guessing.

Would bite your hand off if offered a point now. Brady is a huge loss obviously for set pieces.

McGeady must start.

He gives us a more threatening option than they have with bale. His inclusion shows out intent - we will be going for all the points against the brexit voting little Englanders

Sure thing. PM me to arrange collection.

on the center back issue
a few points

  • we are playing wales, wales are shit, they have an exceptionally decent midfield player in Ramsey and a freak in Bale who will play anywhere, up front they have 2 LOI style donkeys in Vokes and Robson Kanu, itll be long balls, we dont need therefore an exceptionally decent defensive pairing here, any average championship level player should do ok
  • DUffy is a poor player, this is a fact but an important aspect of football is familiarity with those around you , comms between keeper and back 4 are vital, in the game against serbia and Modldova we were diabolical at the back, the back 4 couldnt play a straight line, Coleman was totally gung ho, Randolph charging out of goals,
what went on in Belgrade was a comedy, but what Duffy did in Chisinau against one of the poorest teams in Europe for their goal was really really poor
he is liable to d anything on the park , but i vienna he looked ok, it was like him and clark finally understood each other, if he was fit id try him for wales, but now against this crowd it is the first game together after 4.5 months, the first half will be a mess again, luckily the standard of opposition we are playing is poor
-i have no idea who will take Bale, im assuming Stephen Ward?
  • Brady is a huge loss

good to see the talented Andy Boyle start at center half tonight for PNE, perenneial squad stalwart Alex Pearce started in the same game for Derby but keogh not in the squad…
is there an injury here?

Apparently Boyle was superb tonight for Preston. Good to have him as an option.

McGeady has won the Championship player of the month for February.

We need him to lead the charge on Friday week.

Oooft.

Kevin shunned by his hero.

Its wonderful to see Aiden find his level.

As the best player in England’s most competitive league?

Yes, his talents are shining in England’s second tier. I hope he can prosper as much in an Irish shirt as well.

James McCarthy is an injury doubt for this with a hamstring injury. He doesn’t seem to be able to maintain his fitness at all.
