Robbie Keane with a brace, we will win this 2-1

Aviva Stadium looking resplendent from my balcony tonight, chaps.

Robbie would pass out Gerd Müller’s tally for international goals if he can manage that .

Coleman appears to have passed a fitness test yesterday, unfortunately.

Anyone at risk of suspension, pal?

The Georgia #10 and #23 were great laugh the other night. The skills, the Rui Costa ness of 10, the one footed ness of the other lad, the time wasting, feigning injury, keeping the ball, tempting idiots like Scott Brown into fouling them when they were winding down the clock.

I did get the sense they were going to celebrate the fuck out of their win and I don’t think they’ll repeat their display tonight.

2-0 to us, I reckon.

Anyone at risk of suspension, pal?

The Georgia #9 and #23 were great laugh the other night. The skills, the Rui Costa ness of 9, the one footed ness of the other lad, the time wasting, feigning injury, keeping the ball, tempting idiots like Scott Brown into fouling them when they were winding down the clock.

Coleman (fingers crossed), McCarthy (please God), McClean, Walters, Whelan and Wilson are all one yellow card from a ban.

Georgia have lost 17 of their last 22 away matches - we should be beating them if we can take care of #9 (all right foot) and #23 (all left foot). I’m not sure what happened to Levan Kenia who destroyed us a couple of times and was with Schalke for a while. He plays with Slavia Prague now and is a bit-part player for Georgia only. Didn’t play the other night. Ananidze (another young midfielder) is apparently their best player but I didn’t notice him the other night.

They have a lad from the Eredivisie who is meant to be handy as well.

Will the Ulster boys (Wilson, Coleman, McGeady and McClean) start tonight?

Am I right in thinking that if teams finish level on points, then it boils down to head-to-head results as opposed to goal difference?

Yes, pal.

Thanks mate. I should never doubt myself.

We may well need Poland to win in Hampden so

It was important the Jockos didn’t equalise the other night as they have us on head to head. We’ll be grand - we’ll get a result in Poland ourselves.

Brilliant Brian Kerr analysis and overview article in The Irish Times today. He’s a smashing pundit. Meanwhile, that foppish and ginger haired gimp Ken Early has written a “Robbie Keane scores way more goals against crap teams” piece. A striker finding it easier to score against a bad team. What a revelation.

A horrible article from Early.

He appears to have only ever seen Pirlo play twice - once against England (surprise, surprise) and once on a youtube compilation. I’ve seen Pirlo play a couple of times in the MLS. He hasn’t been shit because he’s on a different wavelength. He’s been shit because he hasn’t been terribly interested.

Keane’s goals against Estonia in a European Qualifier playoff are possibly two of the top 20 most important goals in Irish international soccer history. But they’re not good enough for Ken who would rather Robbie scored for Chelsea instead. It’s rather typical of Early’s worldview that in an article about Robbie Keane and Andrea Pirlo, he brings Chelsea into the debate.

And Early’s substantial point, that Keane plays better as an individual than as a partner is just so vehemently and clearly wrong that it’s outrageous even for Ken. His partnerships with Berbatov and Quinn illustrated how good he is at working with another striker. His time with Liverpool illustrated how frustrated he was when he was asked to do everything himself.

What a horrific article.

Coleman for Christie and McGeady or McClean for Hendrick are the two changes I’m expecting.

That cunt Early needs to watch Robbie playing for the Galaxy. He is like a puppet master out there pulling all the strings, Stoichkov-esque.

Shame on you all for even glancing at a Ken Early “article”.

He’s a dickhead who knows nothing and you should all know better.

And Robbie…if anyone needs the defend him again, forget about it and just beat the tar out of the person denigrating a national hero/icon/all-round alright sort/Morrissy’s cousin.

You’ll be doing Ireland a service.
