Iād say that it happening the Sat night before Christmas didnāt help the reduced nu of staff, increased patient numbers and the consultant ādecliningā to come in. Grim
A doctor and a nurse left emergency medicine after it because they were so upset.
Itās fucking awful for a family to be left with the idea that their kid died because she was essentially lost in a crowd and forgotten about and could have been saved if somebody treated her. That should not happen.
The HSE have an ad on the radio at the moment warning about the signs of Sepsis and to speak up if they have concerns.
Itās a bit glib to be running it while this inquest is on going.
Or else possibly the only good outcome of a death like hers.
Well she did everything they say to do in the ad and was still left to die
I wonāt fight you on this one mate.
Iāve a bit more sympathy for the consultant who didnāt come in after his evidence today. Was in for the day on the Sat and due back in on the Sun morning too.
A shit show all round
I donāt get that at all. Itās like he was duty bound to come in.
Why the fuck was he doing a 48 HR shift?
Some joke!
Have we any politicians in Limerick worth their salt.

Itās deeply unhelpful I would say to go immediately public. What are the hospital supposed to do if thereās properly Iāll folk scattered on trolleys across the hospital.
There clearly isnāt enough capacity, but that is a legacy issue.
It needs targeted investment in infrastructure, which seems to actually lag well behind manpower from what you can see.
The issue appears to be bed space, and A&E space rather than personnel
Itās infrastructure alright.
Closing all the satellite hospitals before the hub was ready or even close to capacity.
Would a big part of the problem be the high levels of violent and knife crime in Limerick?
Bargain. Iāll tell you whatā¦ the likes of EY are absolutely creaming it in the HSE. It started out with the emergency covid response and now theyāve sunk in their teethā¦ there is no letting go.
HSE to introduce ā¬100m system for State's vaccine programmes.
That and GPs referring every case into the hospital just in case.
This is a major issue.
Also, had someone in hospital recently, they went in on a Wednesday night, eventually got a bed Friday, no doctor all weekend and then eventually discharged on the Tuesday after being seen by the doctor.
Imagine running a hotel and giving most of the staff weekends off. Thatās the way the HSE is run. They have all these administrators yet rely on external parties like EY to advise them on where theyāre going wrong. All the money is spent on avoiding responsibility.
Ive just seen details of a charity trying to raise ā¬1m for a Pediatric MRI Scanner for the new childrens hospital???
Why is a charity having to try raise ā¬1m for a scanner when the fucking building is costing ā¬2.25 billion.
I understand it is a genuine charity and fully voluntary which is commendable but surely there is something wrong here.
The country is fucked.
Junior hurling. Flake it down the pitch and itās someone elseās problem.
In truth, this is a trope which is hugely untrue. The vast majority of GPs I reckon work really hard and keep folk away from hospital.
Youd only need a few slackers though.
Access to the GP quickly would seem to be a big problem.
