@TheUlteriorMotive what’s the deal with the 800m? We had 4 athletes qualify for it and none of them could progress. Was it an easier standard to qualify or just a ridiculously hard event? I never remember having us having as many individuals in a single track event before
Male standard to qualify was hard to get. Not sure on women but they looked to have peaked months ago.
Combination of very hard event, it being 30 degrees when they are running and championship running means it’s effectively a 200m sprint at end rather than a time trial.

The German John Delaney has got them back into the mixed relay as the 9th team.
Hockey team about to start their game vs the mainland now.
Are they out now? Thought they still had to play India in a match that would basically be a play off for a quarter final but on Radio 1 they made it sound like that were eliminated now.
How did Sophie Becker and her crew perform in the final? Didn’t get to see it.
8th out of 9 I think. Not far behind though, competitive.
They’re out. They don’t even get a 9/10th place off, as is traditional in hockey. They have 42 hours to get out of Japan.
Did they lose to India?
They lost 1-0 to India in the penultimate match with a goal three minutes from the end. If they had drawn that, they’d still be in the competition and would have advanced to a 7-0 quarter-final thumping by Australia, but alas.
