Irish Presidential results hub 2018

Noel Whelan on radio one saying Caseys views didn’t reasonate with too many in Ireland rather he was the candidate who broke away and became interesting in last week.

Will we get any idea of what the likely transfers would have been?

Fintan on now shouting down the show for discussing Casey’s vote. Calls it’s disturbing discourse and should be getting air time! Liberals eh

We have replaced preachy elites with preachy elites . Gas

Portumna well done. Casey tops the poll there and two other areas of east Galway

MDH lost most of his working class/ labour votes and has polled strongest in more affluent areas … what a kick for the pretend labour man. I think everyone can now agree he’s not a socialist and fits the bill of a lord perfectly.

There is a serious divide between east and west in oirland listening to these tallies from rural heartlands.
We need a visionary like Liam Cahill to re-emerge his RISE movement and give ordinary folk a steer

POTM right there

Gallagher couldn’t even poll higher than Mr. Casey in his own area of Cavan-Monaghan - 17.9% to 18.6%.

Gas.

Mattie McGrath said most of the Tipp votes for Higgins had Casey at no 2. This can’t be just brushed off

I’d brush off anything that Mattie says

The people of Tipperary voted in force for Casey.

Gemma got 50 in one box in Dublin. At this rate she nearly has more than Duffy

The establishment ate having great difficulty accepting Peter Casey getting 23% of the vote. Their pompous heads are literally spinning on their necks at the thought of a section of society not being happy that they are not treated equally to tinkers.
It’s really fascinating to see this unfold.
It’s so remarbly fascinating in fact that its almost like the establishment don’t have much interaction with tinkers in their daily lives.

Very decent showing in the city as well.

29.7% in Monaleen is a lot more than I would’ve expected.

An awful lot of the media commentators just don’t get it. I heard a bit of the coverage on the radio earlier and the three pundits they had on were incredibly condescending towards the Casey vote. They seemed to think people had been fooled into voting for him and didn’t really understand the issues.

Attitudes like that, without addressing the genuine underlying problems that a lot of people have with Travellers is only going to see the vote grow and grow.

It’s pure lazy journalism, blaming the media then for giving him airtime. What a bunch of utter cunts. They love free speech, but only when you agree with them.

The media is dublin centric, people in large urban areas have little or no contact with travellers who engage in crime, and a large Garda presence in case they do. Have no comprehension of people on the country left to fend for themselves.
