There is absolutely no way my brother nor said City player would feed a rumour.
Extent of the sickness was not clear. But cancer definitely on the card.

Yeah a few people who seem to know the family are all saying the same thing.
Shocking news to hear about the guy and for his family.
Brutal news.
Awful news.
You’re a man of huge empathy that much has been clear for a while.
Ah he was great for celtic. That’s awful awful news.
Seems like it’s not quite as critical as originally suggested. He’s not in a hospice according to this Scottish journalist who seems well informed.

This one is response to someone asking him if he’s now in a hospice:

Reasonable hope there
Who suggested pancreatic cancer?
McManus is a former LOI player, had a spell with Limerick briefly. Not sure if him & Miller played together in Scotland or Oz but he seems fairly in the know there anyway.
Hopefully it’s not as bad as was initially reported.
Woah, woah, woah.
That’s what is being generally “reported” online. Though it could still be speculation.
Nembo brought it up but was not suggesting it really. Just based on the story that was likely as its fast moving.
A reasonable suggestion really
What? I’m not witchhunting anyone here. Just wondering where the suggestion came from as we all know how bad the prognosis is for pancreatic.
I was working backwards, mate. I have no idea of what it may be if true.
I’m pumped for this game tomorrow night.
I’m wearing my Derry top today in support of the Derry Brigade.
When was the last time we had a game of this magnitude in Ireland?
Bosnia at home wasn’t as much in the balance because we had an away win already and that was for the Euros. Estonia at home was in the bag.
We weren’t close to qualifying for WC 2014. The France home game was big obviously in 2009 but that was a home leg first so the Dublin leg wasn’t decisive.
We weren’t close in 2006 either. Obviously the home game against the Dutch for 2002 was a massive game but even still we had to go to Iran subsequently.
We qualified for 1994 in Ireland but the game wasn’t in Dublin and we also had dependencies on other results. Italia 90 qualification was sealed away from home.
In short, has there ever been a bigger winner-takes-all game in Dublin?
Did the first leg of that match not finish 1-1?
That’s the one. A matter of weeks. Happened an uncle of mine.
I must go home and find my scarf. A bandwagons worth of us getting a bus up and down tomorrow. COYBIG.
Yes. But away goals count double.
I’ve a shit memory for these things.
