Irish soccerball nil - That boy Bazunu will save us (Part 1) 🐐

There have been wars that have started and finished quicker than the awkward silences between some of his words.

It is fair to say Connolly has lots to prove at club and country. He has regressed at Brighton and needs to add more goals to his game.

Robinson will come back in with Coleman as they are allright sorts and spock holds them in high regard.
There clearly is a very strong team spirit and pro spock feeling in the “group” ( to borrow a horrible GAA / ladies rugby phrase) which is clearly a testament to spock’s man management and savvy media skills not to mention his strong Republican background…

Now, I have an inclination this tour is the makings of this squad, fuckers like hendrix and Brady strike me a pricks who won’t work and will snipe away, I dont think spock has any time for them, connolly also is a person of questionable integrity and honestly I think he is a bit lost now with this set up.

look we can say what we want about mcclean, he is an abomination of a footballer but id imagine he is a brilliant guy to have around the place, is great with young lads and despite his complete lack of any footballing ability he really backs spock and shows what it means to pull on the shirt…its the polar opposite of hendrix tbh. mcclean and Duffy are leaders now with Egan and Coleman the more saner of the older quartet…all love playing for their country

lads was Hendrix injured, just didn’t show up or wasn’t selected for this?

He’s mentioned in a group of 4 players including Clark and Stevens who need “rest or minor procedures following a short off season last year”. Make of that what you will.

Hard to argue with much of that.

Duffy is a very lik(e)able character.

100%
as is James McClean
id actually like to apologise to James for posting a screenshot of Tommy Conlon’s article last Sunday that said if football was a game where you didnt need a ball then james would be a top player., whilst this is all 100% correct i must say that James is a very very sound guy who absoluetly loves the concept of playing for his country and supports those around him emphatically… that is to be admired and applauded

A top boke.

Raw round the edges but football isn’t all about your ball skills, it takes all types.

McClean is an unapologetic fenian warrior.

I remember Brady’s tears at Euro 2016 and he obviously cares about Ireland but I know a friend of a friend of Robbie Brady who said that he doesn’t enjoy the Ireland camps and doesn’t like the time away from his family. I heard that years ago.

James McClean is a stone-cold Irish legend.

lets not get too carried away on McClean , he is a sound lad but is utterly diabolical on the pitch , but i do think he has a presence in the squad that right now is very much needed and valued by Spock as he is trying to establish a culture of wanting to play for ireland…
for this reason i hope “Mipo” is told fuck off

Spock id say is the kind of lad who is very easy to fall out with and if a a fella didnt seem to be enjoying the camp or whatever after dinner entertainment Keith Andrews was providing they’d be out in the cold very fast.
Brady and Hendricks are more Brian Kerr sing along men with a guitar talking about what robbie keane’s ma used to cook for dinner type of lads i think…

I wonder at the football squad dinner, if you count the amount of times “obviously” and “to be fair” would be used in the conversations.

Have the “hard right” in Ireland given out yet about the amount of non whites in the squad?

you seem to be the only one that has noticed it

James McClean is Ireland

Because there isn’t enough of them? Paddy is gone too middle class to play ball these days

The boys from Free-Derry are great ambassadors for our country.

Their families are always hanging around the Ballsbridge Hotel before/after games mixing with the rest of the fans. Great people.

Well he is certainly part of the culture we should strive to create.
Him, you or I certainly don’t define it but we should all feel part of it certainly

Never hides who he is or what he stands for. Takes unpopular decisions and gets a lot of stick for them (no one ever takes a knee for him). He’s what a man should be.

And he’s scored enough crucial goals for Ireland to go down as a great

Huh?
