Howâs that fishy?
If youâre replacing Kenny at the end of the group, it has to be for a big name. Not much point replacing him with Pat Fenlon. And big names will only use the job as a stepping stone if they have aspirations to manage at club level in England again, or as a payday, if theyâre near the end of their career. Which means the FAI wouldnât have the money to get the latter and would be being short sighted by getting the former.
Neil Lennon
I shuddered
Yes that is most likely. I wonder will they try to give him a lower salary to do it next time considering his results
I dont think the FAI could afford Lennon tbh but again i dont really see what else they will bring
O Neill yes i know worked a mircacle with NI but did he go what 20+ matches without a win at first, i assume he also is a man who needs time to get his system in place
If they sack Kenny would Jim Goodwin be an option?
He is the most likely replacement. And I think heâs likely finished as a manager. Finished as in he likely wonât do a good job anywhere again, as opposed to not wanting to manage again.
100% correct
he is staying on and im happy with it
Would Hughton not be the favourite.
Heâs the sort of pragmatic workmanlike manager that is suited to Irish football.
Like it or not thatâs the Irish footballing indentity, soak the pressure up, nick a goal and grind it out.
He never mentioned it until a few days ago just when the time for contract renewal discussions are coming up

id imagine soâŚtheyâre utterly banjaxed
So heâs the same as every contracted employee in the world. Wow

for 225k??? he wouldnt even get on the plane
A contract to the end of the next Nations League campaign would be a happy medium IMO. If thereâs no progress by the end of that we need a change for the qualifiers
Would Dennis OâBrien not get involved again?
Regardless of money youâd want to be desperate to take it. The squad profile is brutal for the next 2 to 3 years.

You have to give a manager a contract until the end of a qualification campaign minimum. Giving a contract to the end of the Nations League is effectively probation and would be a worse version of the exact same mistake made in the short contract McCarthy got. You canât run a team that way.
Would Dennis OâBrien not get involved again?
no i doubt it
fellas would have a hard time giving any money to the FAI now as you simply cannot be sure of the integrity of the organisation , the Dela days have left a huge mark in that respect
Hill has a job to prove that the culture is sound, it will take years
Sponsors wonât even get involved.
Would Troy not get on to MTK to sponsor the team?
