Irish soccerball nil - That boy Bazunu will save us (Part 1) 🐐

@Bandage
did you read Dan Macd’s piece in Saturday’s indo ( i was thinking of you as i read it)
it was written in the classical genre with references to kenny’s insightful LOI programme notes, his careful answers and his intuitive behaviour , and now here you have it just like in Netanya in 2016 Spock took the “assembled” irish media clique to a more informal setting after the official presser in the hotel in Baku where they chatted away over coffee… Dan did make the point then that it is possible the long pauses dont suit the digital age and in a presser where every question and anser is being translated it is not Stephen Kenny’s “style”

Looked a pen there defender leaned right into Tierney had no interest in the ball.

Got 1 back. Fairly calamitous defending by the Montenegro captain. 15 to go

Bit of background here on the Albanian-Irish in the underage set-up.

These stories are told in many forms. All three trace their roots back to Shkoder in Northern Albania. Ferizaj and Zefi’s parents settled in Dublin, where Justin and Kevin, who are cousins, were born.

Vata’s Irish connection is different. His father Rudi was signed by Celtic after a man-of-the-match performance against Ireland at Lansdowne Road impressed then Parkhead boss Liam Brady, who was able to speak Italian with Rudi. He made his Celtic debut during a friendly against Sligo Rovers and it was in Scotland where Rudi met his wife Ann Frances, whose mother is originally from Howth

We’ll bate those Serbian cunts in the final of the Euros and the three boys will cause a diplomatic incident by doing the eagle gesture

Sounds eh promising. Apart from the as of now bit :see_no_evil:

“As of now I am playing for Ireland and I would love to put that green jersey on and play for my country at senior level. We’ll see what happens,” he told The Times recently.

Said this last week as well but with Zefi moving to Inter at only 16 with 2 Albanian parents and Italy having such a large amount of Albanian immigrants I think we’ll do very well to hold onto him
