Irish youths soccer

He’s had a great game against Blackpool tonight, been the best player on the pitch. He seems very comfortable on either foot as well.

Under 21s team tonight:
McLouglin Connolly Gunning Kiernan Canavan Towell Clifford Brady Hendrick Doran White

Went one down but Robbie Brady just equalised. 15 mins or so to go.

Robbie Brady has only gone and won this for us.

That’s splendid stuff.

Would this be the most talented u-21 side we’ve had for a while lads?

Cunningham and Henderson were also missing from this squad. We seem to have a deep pool of talent under the age of 24 at the moment.

How is Cunningham? Is he back in training yet?

Ireland U19s won 1-0 in Serbia last night with Wexford’s David Murphy the goalscorer.

That cunt that joined the huns last year was in goal. :guns:

Ireland U17s are playing Serbia in Ferrycarrig Park, Wexford, tomorrow night and Thursday lunchtime in friendlies.

Might catch up with twiceasnice97 there tomorrow evening.

An encouraging 4-1 win for our Under 19s in Bulgaria today in the opening round of the first phase qualifying group. Neil Byrne, Samir Carruthers, Conor Smith and Anthony Forde with the goals.

Terry Dixon added to the U-21 squad today, I hear, amazingly enough.

Yeah, 5 years since making his debut at that level.

Beating Liechtenstein 2-0 in Sligo this evening.

First goal was a Robbie Brady penalty, second was a tap-in by Aidan White after a mazy run from Brady who is impressing apparently. Oh and Frank Feighan TD seems to have won the half-time draw.

Team from last night - looks as though they lined out 4-3-3/4-5-1

IRELAND – I McLoughlin (MK Dons); M Connolly (Bolton), S Duffy (Scunthorpe), R Kiernan (Wigan), G Cunningham (Man City); R Towell (Hibernian), C Clifford (Yeovil Town), A Barton (Preston); R Brady (Hull ), J Collins (Shrewsbury), A White (Leeds). Subs: Sheppard (Shamrock Rvs) for Collins (72), Hendrick (Derby ) for Barton (81), Greene (Sligo Rvs) for Clifford (86).

Good chance we could get 3 or 4 off that side in the medium term

Great to see Cunningham back after that shocker of a break, anyone know how he’s been doing? Needs a move away from City now unfortunately, he was in the shake up with Mancini for a bit, but you’d imagine that ship has well and truly sailed.

He joined Notts Forest late last month and has played a couple of games so far

Apparently all our international teams from schoolboy through to U21 play 4-3-3 and it’s only the senior team that play a different system. Wim Kooevermans is behind that in his role as Technical Director.

When did Clifford go to Yeovil and how is he getting on? I presume it’s a loan?

Must be only in the last couple of weeks he joined Yeovil, Mac should know
