Huh?
Championship is what counts, and if he beats that lot we will love him. But his decision making is fucking baffling, or indeed his lack of it during games.
I’m deeply upset after losing that tonight and It’s fair to say management contributed a fair amount to the loss.
Is he a complete bluffer or what.
Tan, tell us more about his time in cork? he was only there to facilitate the players and Donal Og ran the show right? Should we be going after Donal?
I have thought that Allen has been much better that O’Grady in his selections last year. But we lost the game today on the sideline, no doubt about it.
Cannot even sleep after a fucking league game, but its knowing we are a better side than Dublin thats the fuckin killer. The sideline both tonight and last year against Clare in the same position left us down big time!
I opinioned Allen to be living off the work if O’Grady in 05-06. All he did was keep te status quo. He got found out pretty quickly by KK. O Grady would have won 3-in-a-row as he would have had plan b & c and anticipated Cody’s moves.
A nice man and all thT I’d say, but he added nothing to Cork. A new manager should always bring something new to the table but he didn’t IMO.
Mind you it’s hard to know if Limerick have the players to be much better than they are.
Christ, last night has hit me harder than most Championship defeats. :(. 1 fucking B for another year. Grim.
In the cold light of day we lost a league final by a point. We had about four goal chances (two in the first ten minutes) and only buried one. Can’t blame the manager for that.
I wouldn’t say he is a spoofer. He has done an ok job since he came in. In saying that we’ve won only one big game in his time in charge (Clare in Thurles) and lost four (league final last year, Tipp and Kilkenny in the championship and last night). The other wins we’ve had in that time don’t really register so when you break it down our record in the big games under him is not great. In his defence it’s a pretty young team, he has given lots of lads their chance and it does take time to adapt to intercounty hurling. He took us over at a pretty low ebb (O’Grady was a wasted year looking back - he shouldn’t have got the job unless he committed for a minimum two years) and Allen has, by and large, got this squad organised, fit and motivated. Just makes last night all the more frustrating.
He is gone at the end of this championship campaign anyway so we’ll be back to square one again next November. Relying on the same county board that appointed Pad Joe Whelehan and Justin McCarthy so I’m not optimistic they’ll get anyone better in.
Hannon in corner forward though, for the love of God. Surely one of his selectors would have been in his ear saying “we need him further out the pitch to influence the match”
Beat Tipp and last night will be tolerated but going on everything we’ve seen since 2009 it would be a monumental upset if Tipp don’t beat us.

Not even a record breaking win by Harlequins today will cheer me up
It’s inevitable what will happen today, isn’t it?
Footballers beaten and those cunts will win in London, cue the usual media love-in about “the mighty men of Munster, they did it for their amazing fans, incredible spirit, Munster is like a family” etc and all the other self serving bollocks they come out.

Is it true Donal Og ran the show and Allen was only there to make sure they got comfy buses and nice tracksuits?
I actually think Allen did far better last year than O’Grady.
O’Grady had us playing the silly tippy tappy short passing which looked terrible and never suited the players. He persisted with Geary who was past it at centre back and first Gavin O’Mahony and then hickey at full back when any Limerick fan could have told you those three players weren’t up to those positions.
Allen last year came in and has us playing more natural and far more effective hurling. And he quickly identified 3 and 6 as positions that needed sorted and sorted them out them out far better than O’Grady.
In saying that yesterday evenings match was a monumental fuck up on the sideline.

And this is what it boils down to, mate. It’s a results business and in all our big games since he took over there has been serious questions about his decision making.
You can’t say O’Grady was any better though. Chewy posted that he presumes considine or o’connor would get it if Allen is gone at the end of the year. Leo o’connor?! Jesus we should cling to John Allen like fuck.
I’m hurting, Glas. Just tell me It’s going to be ok.
It is. Allen didn’t want to show his hand ahead of the Tipp game. Mindgames. It’s all about the championship. Limerick never never feared Tipp.
From an outside perspective I don’t think it’s fair to smash John Allen here on this one. Ye missed 4 or 5 glorious chances for points in the first half from frees and play - allis had a nightmare!
In addition the goals was baffling, ref gave a soft free but in a reasonably ok position, someone threw a few fucks into him, he brought it to the 21 and I knew looking at Ryan he was going to bury it.
Instead of going in 9 or 10 up at half time ye were only 1 up and the dubs were very fired up for the second half!
John Allen is doing a fine job…
there is no evidence to support that. dublin missed chances and ye beat them, limerick missed chances and they beat ye. they also dominated the business end of the match as limerick ran out of legs

looks like allen isn`t the only spoofer.
think back to the closing stages of the division 2 league final this year and last, the tipp match and even the closing stages of the clare limerick qualifier last year.
in each case limericks opponents were full of running and limerick were not
+1,
Spoofers don’t win All Irelands.
I would be more annoyed with the players if I was a Limerick fan. They need to keep the likes of Shane Dowling out of some of Limerick’s fabulous chippers by the looks of it
