Is this ok to do in these fraught times?

Only 22 in limerick. That’s what’s happened in Italy they’ve Been overwhelmed

Tis only spuds mate. It’s not complicated.

We’ll have loads of ventilators apparently, we make a huge amount of the Worlds supply in the country.
The head of the ICU’s for ireland said he wasn’t worried about ventilators, but he said we’ve no one to work them and it takes years to learn

No one in ALSAA

One nurse needed for every ventilator.

Im putting on 28 Days Later now.

Would she/he be working a 24 hour shift 7 days a week?

12hrs on, 12 off generally here anyway, I think it’s four or six day tours depending.

So when the nurse is on the 12 hours off, what happens the ventilator?

The next nurse on takes over

So more than one nurse per ventilator then?

One working nurse to be exact so, they can’t go 24/7. I presume they can’t cover a number of patients on ventilators either

Fair enough so. You need more than one nurse per ventilator. Figure I’d been told was actually at least 5 trained (for ventilator) nurses plus at least one doctor

I was in mine yesterday and today. That’ll be the last visits for a while I’d say.

I wouldn’t dispute that either, one working nurse is what I read so :man_shrugging:

@TheBird might know the ratio

I don’t know. Not my wans specialty. I met an ICU nurse last week. She told me the number of ventilators they have inside in limerick, shocking, she also told me even if she gets the virus she’ll have to work because of lack of skills.
