Didnāt know @TheBird was a medico
Iām not, the wife is.
Yes I see that. In your own case if I remember right, that must be a concer. The wife is working in an environment which is dangerous to you.
Itās a worry alright
Similar situation. All we can do is be careful & keep on. Hard sometimes not to get too careful\paranoid!
Ah stop, weāll need counselling after this thing ends. I find myself worrying about loved one not so much about myself. I was in Lidl today it was like an old folks party in there. I found myself avoiding for fear Iād infect them.
Iāll keep going as long as I can. Iāve bought a Fitbit so itās out of my hands.
Anyway the hole on the wan working at reception is a lovely morale boost during these troubled times
Mine is now closed. Better come up with a new home schedule I suppose.
Do you have an underlying health issue that puts you at risk?
Do. Iām gonna keep going as long as I can. In the coming weeks the strong will likely kill and eat the weak so maintains my impressive strength is a priority
Iāve an autoimmune thing that has damaged my lungs. So I donāt know how Much extra at risk I am in. Iām in my forties and in otherwise good health.
Myself and @Fitzy are the go to grow your own guys around here. @TreatyStones talks a good talk too but itās largely piseogs with him. @Fitzy specializes in warm climates which isnāt a great help.
To sow potatoes youāll need a shovel, some fertilizer ( the pellets made out of chicken shit are fine) and seed potatoes. Pink fir apples are the variety that grow best in my soil. Sow them in drills leaving enough soil either side to pile on top of the plants when they start to emerge.
In my opinion it is too cold to sow at the moment. One good frost would undo your work. Iād give it time. Maybe two weeks.
What breed of spuds do you grow?
Pink fir apples. (Pommes de terre)
Hereās what I could find out from Dr Google. Iām not on any medication so that might count in my favour.
When to put in the garlic ?
I have an underlying issue that has me at risk but like yourself Iām relatively healthy otherwise. Nurse has told me I should be ok. Can work from home and weāre out in the sticks so itās easier to do the social distancing.
Keeping the kids from mixing is key for us. Weāre pooling childcare with my sister and brother in law keeping them in a mix of 10 only. Once everyone sticks to that we should be ok. The wife however is a different story.
Last December.
The old wives tale goes: Plant on the shortest day of the year pick on the longest.
A bit late for me, ah well on to the lettuce and spring onions. I put in a small raised bed last year and planned to extend the range.
