It's grim up north

Pootshie doesn’t care much for Leo and Coves. Has a lot of respect for Meehawl.

FF -5.

Sure Meehawl is a unionist himself.

Pootsie is not carrying the party. Will they split?

DUP imploding

This Poots sounds worse than Paisley…

Nawful place.

Getting very messy. Very reminiscent of UUP in Trimble era. Beattie and the present day UUP could be the real winners.

It will be very interesting.

Almost guaranteed now that SF will get the FM post in the next assembly election.

The DUP are effectively stuck between a rock and a hard place now.

Assembly election due within the next year and they are in complete mutiny.

The UUP might take votes off the DUP but I’d expect demographics and the Brexit fall out will see a dip in the unionist vote.

I expected the DUP to take a hit but didn’t envisage them collapsing as spectacularly as they now are.

Agree wholeheartedly

Gang of dinosaurs

So the story is is that hangjaw wasn’t jocking her catholic chauffeur? All that was totally made up?

The assembly won’t sit after the election if SF are to get first minister.

A lot of variables here. One being, when the election happens. If Poots nominates a FM and SF refuse to nominate a DFM, unless eg the promise of an Irish Language Act is fulfilled, then the Assembly collapses and we have an election in the very near future.
Poots will fight the election, either way, on the Protocol and preventing an SF FM. But he’ll not want that election now with the bad feeling/chaos in unionism at the moment.

Both Protocol and prevention of SF FM are vote winners and will energise the unionist electorate driving their vote up. With the DUPers still being main party those votes are likely to stick with them. Unionist voters may not like unionist leaders but they dislike SF more.

The DUP might not be in a position to dictate that now.

It’s the internal ructions though. Elected reps storming off and others in talks with the UUP. It could be utter carnage for them at the election booth.

How do the DUP stop the hemorrhaging of votes to the TUV/UUP? The latest opinion polls should have them shitting their pants.
