Arlene was taking no chances with the colours on her outfit anyway!

The lad on the left looks slow.

The lad second from left does as well.

Mary Lou says she would attend 12th celebrations?! She’s off her head, it’s a harmless day out for some and a distilled hate fest for others. There’ll be a sizable minority of the absolute scrapings of loyalism who can’t afford a holiday or who are too mired in hatred to miss their jamboree.
Fair play to her for the gesture. Either she’s naive or she’s putting the pressure on the Orange order to move things along.

You’re wrong on this one Sid. If there is a 50.5% they will have to accept it. The brits won’t re-run Brexit which was 52% and would probably Be rejected if it was re run now. They have accepted it and they would have to accept a majority of a border poll.

That said, the path to a UI isn’t clear and who knows about Brexit. In the event there was a UI the loyalists would suck it up, they’d have to. Bar a few crazy conservatives most brits wouldn’t notice…and that’s the difference. The Ra had a goal of a united Ireland, the brits goal was to defeat to Ra. It’s politics now. The north is part of the ‘uk’ until a vote of a majority is in favour of a UI. When that happens it’s over.

Christ almighty the loyalists couldn’t blow up a box of matches without assistance from the brits, they couldn’t import arms without assistance from the brits, they couldn’t get away with the murders they carried out without assistance, info, surveillance, safe passage.

What could the loyalists fight for? To get back into the ‘UK’ ?? They couldn’t, the brits would say there was a vote and you aren’t ours anymore…good luck.

Would a few renagades cause trouble? Possibly, but they’d be wiped out pretty quickly.

9/11 changed everything. There is no support for conflict or what would be deemed terrorist actions. The RA knew this, decommissioning was a hard pill to swallow but they knew they couldn’t depend on American support for any new bombing campaign so it happened.

Do you seriously think the loyalists would get support anywhere? Not a chance. Money would be thrown at certain areas and they’d all live in a federal state until it was time to incorporate them the 26…which could be 50 years after reunification.

Could a UI happen? Yes. Why have Varadkar and Coveney suddenly got balls to talk about it…to out republican, FF the Republican Party at the next election? Bollox! Europe have said they’ll pony up!

Nutbags . Do we really want to be dealing with these apes in any United ireland?

Agree with all of this, though I think the omagh bomb, rather than 9/11 was the seminal moment in this in the North and in the South.

I’d add that if Ireland reunites, Scotland grows a pair and leaves the UK and rejoins the EU, and England sooner or later is forced to crawl back with no opt outs (25 years I’d put on reentry), it will have been a decent bit of business all round. Wales will just go for the biggest, easiest teat to suck. Any English politician with a bit of mischief would suggest an English independence referendum.

You’re an awful devious wum of a twisted contrarian. Boris is your man.

It would be highly entertaining to see the reactions all round, especially from the welch.
