From my recollection he was one of the only dissenting voices in the media during the covid crisis hitherto. He asked reasonable questions about cancer screenings, economic impacts etc. I dont really care if he is a cunt or supports Man City/Leinster, or got the boat to Wales to escape his creditors and is getting a nice cosy pension. It is immaterial really. But he doesnât take the populist standpoint and challenges consensus. He picks through the bullshit too and doesnât let people off the hook too easily. In this country we are spoon fed propaganda by RTE and in the absence of any critical thought itâs nice to be able to hear other views occasionally.
Heâs hardly unique in that regard⌠Donât hate the player, hate the game.
If Yates had ran in 2002 he might well have been Taoiseach eventually .
Yatesy was the finest Minister for Agriculture this country has seen.
I often wonder what a place weâd have today if himself and Mick Lowry had of gone on to run the country together.
The usual suspects wonât like that one bit.
The retirement party in Blackstoops sounds like itâll be a blast
Ivan is an alright sort, comes from good stock.
What part of Wexford is he from ??
Enniscorthy
The claxon sounded and the prod responded
Youâre an awful cunt and I respect you mightily for it
I wonder how hard would have gone after punters who got themselves in debt to him back in his bookmaking days?
Sounds like a cuntfest
A tap in of a nice post to be fair
Heâs also one of those scarf wearing Leinster rubby supporter types.
What he knows about GAA youâd fit on a stamp.
An awful hungry cunt too. Never wanted to hear anything about analysis when it came to Friday evening previews: just wanted to know the âexpertâ opinion so he could throw a few bob on subsequently at the local bookies like the degenerate that he is. Very unethical broadcasting in my view but unsurprisingly itâs the road which the Dinny Brine empire has gone down over the past few years.
They all count
It was the same when David McWilliams was hosting it. The betting stuff has become more overt and monetised in recent years, but we have always had these kinds of chats imo.
Used to like Yates but just controversial for the sake of it in recent years in my opinion.
Yates is a classic ultracrepidarian.
Cracking word
