Jack Charlton

My wife burst into tears when I said it to her just now, I had to join her for a few seconds, try to sing one of those novelty songs now without a lump in your throat,

Thank you for the days Jack

Legend. RIP

5 day wake :pint:

Jack was as cute as fuck too. On his various fishing trips around Ireland he’d always pay for his meals with a cheque knowing full well the pub or restaurant would frame it and put it on a wall rather than cash it. He ate for free around Ireland for the guts of about 30 years, and rightly so too

Thank you for the days, those endless days …

Compared to his prick of a brother. They hadn’t spoken in years apparently

Has anyone see one of these cheques?

There’s a brilliant moment when Jack presented bobby with some lifetime achievement award at the BBC spoty show a couple of years ago. Can’t find it on YouTube. Jack says something real short and sweet like ‘the best player I’ve ever seen, my brother’ with a catch in his throat. Especially poignant as you know the two of them had fallen out.

A lad from Ashington who’s father was a coal miner supporting Thatcher is all you need to know about Bobby

RIP Jack, a legend.

Big Jack RIP

To quote Buff Egan “he was Iconic”

Gas looking back to think that Jack was only in his early to mid 50s when over Ireland looked a good bit older. He had the presence of a real distinguished man.
