Britney Spears’ 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn, who stars in the Nickelodeon show ‘Zoey 101’, is pregnant with her first child.

The children’s channel confirmed the news, which the young actress also speaks about in a forthcoming edition of OK! magazine.

A Nickelodeon statement said: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation.”

Spears is 12-weeks pregnant and that the father of the baby is Casey Aldridge, her long-term boyfriend.

The actress reportedly told OK! magazine: “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”

That’s disappointing, there was me willing to wait for another year before making a move and she goes and starts a fooking family. Not quite sure how Nickleodeon are going to write this into Zoe 101 given that she plays the character of a 14yr old in boarding school.

I’m seriously looking forward to finding out how the Zoe 101 scriptwriters work this into the show. Maybe she’ll get involved in a relationship with one of the teachers at the school and he’ll end up getting sent to the nearest state correctional facility for banging a 14-year-old.

I would like to wish Jamie-Lynn and Casey all the best following their wonderful news though.

A source tells us the interview, which hits stands tomorrow, is six pages and is on the record with Jamie Lynn and her mother. She tells the mag that the father is Casey Aldridge, who she has been dating for some time and first met at church. Brit’s younger sister, star of Nick’s “Zoey 101,” says she’s keeping the baby.

Sources tell us that she has not yet told her older sister. Well, she knows now.:grin:

The friend, who asked not to be identified because the family had not yet announced the baby’s birth, told The Associated Press that the baby was named Maddie Briann and weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
The 17-year-old Jamie Lynn was the star of Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101,” a sitcom about prep school friends, and is the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears. The Spears family announced in December that Jamie Lynn was pregnant. The father is Casey Aldridge, a pipe-layer from Liberty, Miss. The couple is not married but announced an engagement several months ago.
Ellen Brannan, spokeswoman for Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, in McComb, would not give out any details. “We understand everybody’s interested, but we don’t give out information on anyone. Everyone’s entitled to their privacy,” she said.
The younger Spears lives near Liberty with Aldridge, 19, and has been seen around the small south Mississippi town often as her pregnancy became more apparent. Her family owns a home across the state line in Kentwood, La.
Spears announced her pregnancy through an article in OK! Magazine and was expected to receive a large payday for exclusive pictures of the newborn.
Nickelodeon issued a statement about the birth on Thursday, saying, “We wish her and her family well.” Nickelodeon spokeswoman Marianne Romano said that filming of the fourth and final season of “Zoey 101” was completed last summer before Spears became pregnant.
Spears portrayed Zoey Brooks, a student at Pacific Coast Academy, a campus that had been an exclusive all-boys boarding school until Zoey and a handful of other girls arrived. At the end of the series, Zoey gets the boy longtime crush Chase (Sean Flynn).
