Jamie Vardy or Harry Kane

Jesus I just went down through Kanes international goals. He loves a goal against Germany but after that a who’s who of complete misfortunes… I didnt realise it was so bad

The Andy Cole of his generation.

Prime Torres was arguably the best of them all, although twas a short prime. A force of nature. Incredible list of forwards.

Torres was electric… Absolutely frightening. Was capable of every sort of goal imaginable. Twice the player Kane is.

People like the idea of Vardy, playing non-league up to his mid-twenties and going all the way. Kane is the better player I’d agree. Hasn’t played in a good team in 4 or 5 years and still scoring.

A killer, there was some Champions League tie against Arsenal late noughties iirc

Torres and Adeboyor had 3 chances each, thriller of a game.

Torres took all of his, Adeboyor missed his. liverpool won by odd goal.

Even when completely shot for Chelsea, he was still clutch against Barca when it mattered. He burnt out but he was a top player from the age of 16 or 17.

Kane is a brilliant footballer, but he hasn’t the big game cv of Torres, Kane is a strong runner, but Torres was a freak athlete.

Not a single person in the world who doesn’t support Liverpool would have Torres at the top of that lost. Not one.

Probably Suarez and Henry are ahead of him prime wise, but his big game record stands up against any of them and his overall goal numbers are strong in his prime years.

He and Owen are probably the least gifted footballers technically on the list, but they were extremely effective.

Rooney for example, bar the goal against Barca in 11’ and Euro 04’, has never done it in a big game. Was whipped off for Nani in 08’ when they won. Any top coach, prime Torres or prime Rooney, they’d all say Torres.

So was prime stan collymore. Didn’t last long sadly.

There are levels to this shit! Torres actually won everything in his career really, the real big ones. World Cup, Euros, Champions League.

Collymore was a super player.

If Kane could move like Torres, he’d be up there with fackin Pele!

Kane is a bit like John Terry in the pace department, enough to get by but it isn’t a strong point.

Kane doesn’t run the channels with the same vigour he did, as Conte saw!

Peak Michael Owen or peak Robbie Fowler?

Fowler

A few of the goals he got for Villa, Leicester, even Bradford, what a talent. Way too far gone by then but still.

They should’ve played together with Fowler dropping off between the lines after his injuries, Houllier and Phil Thompson weren’t good for Fowler, he got a very bad injury, gained weight and they were very cold to him.

Technically, Fowler is as good as any player on the list. Absolute throwback player. I lived in England for a year in 13’ and the auld lads in pub said he was very like Jimmy Greaves, immaculate first touch, really creative and could score from any angle
