Inter are on the verge of signing Danilo D’Ambrosio - will be an excellent signing for them. Ranocchia is also being chased by Galatasaray, seems to be a lot of activity at Inter right now. I think Guarin and Ranocchia will leave before Friday with D’Ambrosio in and the possible arrivals of Osvaldo and Hernanes.
I know things are bad in Meeeelan but surely things can’t be that bad. Taraabt is waste of space. Championship with QPR was his level.
Milan’s transfer strategy is clueless, you just have to look at some of the clowns they have signed in recent years. Squad players from relegation battling and mid table Serie A teams, washed-up EPL players etc. In the aftermath of the departures of Ibrhaimovic, Silva, Cassano, Seedorf and Nesta; they did seem to introduce a new strategy of focusing on young players and it looked to be working. De Sciglio emerged as a world class full back, El Shaarawy was banging them in, they got hold of Saponara who looks a great talent, Cristante was emerging and all it needed were a few good established players to aid them. Instead they just reverted to the previous strategy of stockpiling on average and washed-up footballers.
They have six centre backs in the squad now - none of which are any use. The two left backs are below-average midfielders. Guys like Birsa and Robinho are not up to playing at a club with the expectations of Milan. Their wage bill must be huge. It seems to be one step forward and two steps back with them as they have some very shrewd signings in the last two seasons - Montolivo, Kaka and Honda on bosmans, De Jong for €3.5m and have managed to bring in the likes of Balotelli and El Sharaawy for reasonable transfer fees. They are unwilling to spend any sort of decent money however and that shows, they wouldn’t pay up for Nainggolan so settled for Essien. They wouldn’t pay up for Ljajic so settled for Birsa, they won’t pay what it takes for Cerci so will settle for Taarabt. I just don’t understand why they make these signings, it would be far more beneficial giving some of the youngsters a chance.

Has Galliani been sidelined?
Going by the calibre of signing I would imagine Galliani is still calling the shots right now. He tries to lowball everything though, to the point that he misses out on some great opportunities. Italian football definitely needs a strong Milan, they have always been our flag bearers in European football.

in other news the prolific James Keene has joined Beni Yehuda Tel Aviv from Portsmouth and scored in his debut against Hapoel Haifa on saturday night
This English bastard was a filthy animal against Celtic in the Champions League qualifiers in the summer when lining out for Elfsborg.
yeah he seems to be a right awkward hunnish type of cunt, reminds me of that oaf Conor Wickham, slightly better maybe, they are bottom of the league with 9 points but id say he is the sort of cunt who is good for a goal

Sometimes you get the impression Italian clubs just buy and sell and trade in percentages of players just for the sake of it. Inter might be getting in a few decent players but why sell Guarin and Rannocchia who are both decent?
Unfortunately the money isn’t there for Italian clubs and in order to bring in good established players they need to offload some. Inter - much like their city rivals are a shambles. As I think I mentioned in an earlier thread, you just need to look at the players brought through their youth ranks that they let go and where they are now. Inter buying Forlan a couple of seasons back was a prime example - they had more pressing areas to worry about spending that money on and could have brought Destro back instead. If they took on this approach, the they might be, as you allude to, able to hold on to their better players and bring in some quality at the same time (within reason).
Guarin seems to be hell bent on leaving Inter so that one is understandable. Ranocchia has just never been able to put a consistent run of form together since his move to Inter which is disappointing as I like him and think he can be a good defender - he was the one who impressed me most out of his partnership with Bonucci at Bari.
On a slightly unrelated note, it disappoints me that both Criscito and Bocchetti - two very good players - are spending the prime of their careers rotting away in the Russian League rather than playing for top Serie A clubs and as a consequence being ostracised from the international set-up.
What’s the story with Wicham? Forest are after him but their looking for €5million. He’s hardly worth that whoever the fook he is. Martil O Neil was keen too one time I believe
Vucinic to Arsenal and Osvaldo to Juve is the story doing the rounds at the minute - both loan deals.
Don’t know why Arsenal wouldn’t just go for Osvaldo instead, he’s a better player, younger and eligible to play in Europe as well. Although he is a headbanger with a rotten attitude but he is nowhere near as gutless as Vucinic is.
