I can only go on the information made available to me through my extensive contacts in Germany. It’s far from confirmed - at this stage it’s just talks. I thought it merited mention though because it’s an interesting deal and you can see what everyone would stand to gain from it.
I wonder what Newcastle could have sold him for after his first 6 months.
Who is a terrific player but exactly the type of player they don’t really need. You can make an argument for a quality player like that being an asset to any club (like when Arsenal felt they should buy Ozil because he was available, not because that was their most pressing need). But they’ve been regularly linked to #10 type players over the past few seasons (Sneijder was on the verge of joining them for about 18 months according to the papers) and they already have Rooney and Kagawa who can play there.
Hamsik would be odd as he is an advanced midfielder who plays in a similar position to Kagawa who Moyes has made little effort to integrate in his team, Hamsik is probably more dynamic and better suited to the EPL though.
Lots of excitement with the current situation at Southampton following the departure of Cortese and with Pochettino looking likely to follow suit.
Though it was already likely Luke Shaw now seems certain to move this window and Lambert should be on the way to West Ham.
That would be a terrible move for Lambert.
Inter have made some retarded transfer decisions in the past few years but swapping Vucinic for Guarin would be the worst yet. The Inter Ultras are seething at the prospect of this transfer.
Vucinic is 30, injury prone and has been pretty underwhelming in a Juventus side that has dominated the domestic scene since he has arrived. His scoring record is very poor, his attitude and work rate is poor and he hasn’t had a decent season since 2009/10. He’s also currently on a higher salary than Guarin.
Guarin on the other hand is younger, better and while he has been inconsistent at Inter you can maybe chalk that down to being at a side who have been in decline since he arrived. I’m sure he will do very well at Juve if this goes through.
Very good player but probably not the type of player United need as Moyes would not play himself, Rooney and RVP in the same team due to his conservative nature. Still though, better than the muck we have playing in midfield at the moment.
