A late one went through under the radar:
Big Andy (Sophis to Sin Nombre).
Shouldnāt have an impact on TFKās quest for a 4th league title in a row.
United needed to sell to survive with Cameron Stewart leaving for Hull on a permanet deal. I havta say I wish Ferguson would splash the cash like his fellow Scott did yesterday. Its painfully obvious that the likes of Gibson and Anderson are pure muck now and it is the worst team of the current United era. Chelsea have sent out a signal they that mean business. 2 games against United and Torres usually gives Vidic and Ferdinand a torrid time. I hope that this proposed Summer clearout happens. It is needed badly at Old Trafford.
Morning after the night before and what a day of transfer drama it was. Sky Sports News have made an industry out of deadline day and itās become absolutely mental. Conor Sammon completed a move to Wigan late on too. Slightly overshadowed by Torres and Carroll though.
But if Lord Ferg wins the title this year it will be one of his greatest achievements.
FFS.
As if it wasnāt bad enough that Liverpool spent Ā£35m on a player who could well be the new Emile Heskey, it now turns out that he was forced into handing in a transfer request and is āguttedā that he had to leave.
Andy Carroll claims he was forced to leave Newcastle for Liverpool
Andy Carroll has claimed he was asked to hand in a transfer request as Liverpool made an improved Ā£35m bid for the striker.
Carroll told the Evening Chronicle that he had been in talks over a new and improved contract at St Jamesā Park when it became clear he was longer wanted on Tyneside.
āDerek [Llambias, Newcastleās managing director] asked me to hand in a transfer request, so I was pushed into a corner and had no choice,ā Carroll said. "I wasnāt wanted by them and they made it clear they wanted the money.
"Then I flew down in [owner Mike Ashleyās] helicopter. I didnāt want to leave. Iām gutted that I wasnāt wanted at my home team after everything I have done and the progress I have made.
āI didnāt want to leave at all. Make sure they know I didnāt want to leave. The players, staff and fans were fantastic.ā
Carrollās comments back up the content of texts he sent to friend and editor of the Toon Talk fanzine, Steve Wraith, as the transfer saga unfolded last night.
The Newcastle manager, Alan Pardew, denied the claims, insisting Carroll decided to leave after asking for a new deal, which was not forthcoming. āWe didnāt force anybody to leave,ā Pardew told the Shields Gazette.
āI disagree with that point. He had a contract here for five years, and at some point it would get renewed, but for him to sign in October and it get renewed in January ā where would it stop?ā
Good to see that Andy Carroll is a big fan of the word āmateā as wellā¦TFK setting more trends
Apparently Man City turned down a 20m bid from Liverpool for Micah Richards yesterday.
That other fool Craig Burley going apeshit over Diouf coming to the SPL on ESPN earlier.

Ah yes I predicted Torres and Carroll would flop at their respective clubs
Word coming out of Chelsea is that Torres will be available for ā¬20M in the transfer window. Where now? Iād love to see him go back to Liverpool, can imagine thereād have to be a lot of necks wound back in from this time 12 months ago. Wasnāt there a poster here who said Suarez was bought to partner Torres after all?
I remember someone saying that alright and the club maintain this was the case .
He just need to go to another long ball club like Liverpool.
Maybe Stoke will think about it at ā¬20m.
Seems a no brainer then, Liverpool should get right in there and get him back. 30M or so profit on the deal and the player back, what Liverpool fan wouldnt be happy with that sort of bargain?
Torres?
30M profit = Andy Carroll.
