January Transfer Window 2021

Costs were pretty much covered by selling Jordan Ibe and Brad Jones to Bournemouth for a combined ā‚¬21 million the same summer.

Dembele could thrive at Liverpool. Although youā€™d wonder would he get game ahead of Mane and Salah.

Liverpool are certainly good at mugging Bournemouth off but I think that should be investigated. Looks very suspicious Bournemouth buying Liverpoolā€™s deadwood off for inflated fees.

It is actually mate.

The market has changed a lot in 4/5 years, thatā€™s probably Ā£40-50m in todayā€™s market.

Wijnaldum is a decent player but heā€™s nothing special. I donā€™t think itā€™s a meagre fee for a player of his ability.

I donā€™t think it has changed that much.

Winjaldum was worth that then I would say. No more or less. But itā€™s hardly a huge fee even af the time.

The likes of Everton, West Ham and Newcastle werenā€™t spending Ā£40m odd on average players back then, they are now. It was soon after that the Chinese clubs massively distorted the market.

Still wasnā€™t a huge fee.

The young lad at Leverkusen Harvetz is it , looks a real player .

It was a significant fee on a fairly unremarkable player, at the time.

I certainly wouldnā€™t call it meagre.

Ok - go on.

Go on?

I donā€™t think it was a meagre fee at the time.

It was probably one of the top 10 EPL transfers that summer or very close and heā€™s been decent for Liverpool but heā€™s not a guaranteed starter or anything and itā€™s not as if Liverpool have a special midfield or anything.

Everton spent more on Yannick Bolasie the same summer.

I mean that I was happy to conclude with you on your last point and move on.

Fair enough mate. I accept your surrender.

Trouble in (the socialist) paradise.

Tonali looks to have chose Inter as his destination next summer.
