12-7 halftime. Brilliant try-saving tackle from the Japanese fullback to keep Scotland out before the whistle

What a tackle

Unbelievable try saving tackle there on the stroke of HT by Japan, Scottish fella was in on the wing after a long sweeping pass to him from the out-half. He put his head down and was driving for the corner under the flag when a Jap came out of nowhere like a ninja with a flying spear tackle and blew him out over the sideline.

Can we do it lads?

The Scots have been better in the ruck and from scrummaging. There’s joy for us down the blindside. We need our guys to get their hands on it and start throwing it around with flair, get it down the wings and stretch them out.

Amanaki Mafi the No. 8 gone down for Japan after a hard tackle, looks like he will have to come off. Yeah he’s gone off on a stretcher. Will be a big loss to them. He got a warm applause from the knowledgable Kingsholm crowd at Gloucester.

Scotland try on 48 mins. Good attack in fairness, Hardie gets over in the corner. Laidlaw misses the conversion. 17-10

If only he had a twin.

He’s got a granny in Fukuoka.

Some fella after coming on for Scotland here making his debut. He qualified to play for Scotland on Saturday on “residency grounds.”

It’s 24-10 btw 60’.

Bennett try for Scotland after a Hogg break. Converted by Laidlaw to make it 24-10 approaching the hour mark

Justin Ives gone off for Japan. He’s played well.

Scotland have ran in another one. Japan pressing high up but your man “Seymour” intercepted and ran the length of the field to score. 29-10 and they will convert this. 65’

Seymour interception try from his own 22. The dream is over for today. 31-10 on 65 mins

Shojie Ito on for Tanaka in the second row. I think it’s too late for Shojie to have an impact today but the experience will do him the world of good.

My auld fella will be gutted about this. He was telling me last night that Japan to beat Scotland at 9/2 was “the greatest bet of all time”. Hope he didn’t have too much on that one.

36-10 now 70’.

Carl Hesketh has just come on for Japan.

Signing in again
