I watched the final couple of frames of this on YouTube last night as it was exactly 20 years ago.
The final frame is still as horrible to watch now as it was at the time.
Jimmy’s missed black is even more difficult to watch than Senna’s crash the previous day.
It was as clear a demonstration as there ever was than evil can triumph over good, and a real life lesson.
I still hate Stephen Hendry and the moustache he’s currently wearing makes him look like a fool.
I still believe Jimmy will win the World Championship some day.

Steve Davis won the World Championship in 2013. Jimmy is 5 years younger than Davis so he’s every chance of still bagging that elusive first World Championship.
2 May 1994 was the cruellest of all though. It was Jimmy’s 32nd birthday as well.

I believe he’s already won it, like Christy O’Connor Junior won back to back Open titles.
Actually you’re right. Didn’t he beat Steve Davis in 2010? Ample revenge for 1984.

Two words.
Goran Ivanisević.
Jimmy will always be the god of losers
