They are 85% useless fuckers. There are some good ones particularly if you are in professional services, especially finance, in Dublin but there are shit ones there too. Plus if you see a job spec that you know youâre not qualified for but you go to the interview anyway because some 24 year old âTalent Acquisition Specialistâ says you should go for it anyway then youâre the fucking mug.

I just got the feeling most of them were more focused on their commission than me getting a job.
I had a classic years ago from some smarmy based limerick bullshitter who I wonât name .
Back from abroad and needed a job. Saw one advertised: âFrench and Italian speaker required immediately for short term contract.â I pounced and sent my CV and kept following up. Said contact always seemed to be out of the office when I rang to follow up. When I said I saw the job ad stated an immediate start and that I was ready and able they said theyâd get back to me.

Iâll take the mystery out of it for you, bro - they are 100% more focused on their commission than getting you a job. In the same way you are more focused on getting a job than on getting them a commission. But they donât get a commission unless they place somebody in the role. The good ones realise that and realise they may be able to place you in a different role later and will treat you accordingly. The bad ones, which is most of them, will toss you aside once they realise you are not getting to get the particular role they are currently focused on. Again, avoid them wherever possible.
