Jobs for the weekend

It was a job for the weekend that has moved on to Monday.
Ye electrical guys (you might have moved) don’t like working Saturday evening.

As you know a 9.8kw shower will pull about 42.6A so…
They had a new shower installed recently (I don’t know exactly what the old one was) so I didn’t know exactly what to do as the wire is only 6mm. Certainly not 10mm. And the new shower’s after blowing the RCBO.

The internet is telling me 10mm but I don’t fancy a rewire as you might guess.
So interested in your comment on a ‘redesign for this issue’. Any more info?

To be honest I spoke to a electrician friend and he said the same. ‘A 40A should work fine.’

So the solution is put in the 40A and if she blows again or keeps tripping, then look at a rewire.

Go to an elec wholesaler and ask about an rcbo solution. They will have it before.

Richer sounds Belfast

Talking to a student final year accountancy
He informed me that he’s signed up with a big outfit in town for 3 years,
Shite wages,
But they’ll pay for future exams etc
He’s out the gap once the 3yr contract is up

No but they’ll cause water to overflow down your walls regularly and may cause future damp probs

Yeah that’s what the majority do

Course but to me it sounds a little hard

Obviously, but I know nothing of it tbh

No you’re right - it is hard.

But once you get the exams your salary ask jumps a great deal.

Happy days, just the kid seemed a bit stressed out this morning when he was explaining the set up to me
(A hurler from N Kerry , would u mind):ok_hand:

This weekend, I spent my time tending to the estate. I walked through the gardens, making sure the hedges were perfectly trimmed and the flowers arranged just right, can’t have the place looking anything less than immaculate. I saddled up and took the horse for a ride around the grounds, inspecting the stables, the fences, and everything in between, just to ensure all was in order. Inside, I spent some time rearranging the art and antiques, making sure everything fit the mood I’m going for—each piece in its perfect place. It’s not work in the usual sense, but more like a careful orchestration of the space, making sure every detail reflects the life I’ve built myself. Then I woke up… on Saturday morning.

I cut the grass on Sunday afternoon and got rid of a load of leaves. Got the burner serviced yesterday morning and the oil man is coming today. I had knee surgery yesterday afternoon so I’m fit for fuck all for a bit. Gutters need seeing to though.

Yes. Bushfires produce lots of flying embers which can actually travel long distances in the super hot air generated by the fires. They land on roofs and set them on fire if there’s any dry, flammable material. Lots of houses have burnt down because of this even though they may be some distance from the actual fire.

Yeah. You don’t want the neighbours seeing it.

Would you be a good man up on a height? I nearly fell off a roof during a summer job fabricating 20 years ago and would be wary enough. The north facing side of the house has a good deal of moss but the pitch is fairly steep so wouldn’t feel too confident up there.

I gave the verges a last strimming yesterday evening and will give the fence a coating of burnt oil over the next few days. The beech hedge needs to be pruned as well before the leaves start coming off, so they don’t get “leggy” and to strengthen the roof system. Probably need to pull some weeds and dead grass underneath as well. I have some whitethorn that needs splitting and to pull out last year’s supply to the front of the shed.

I’ll also need to give the rendered plaster on the outside a spray of mosskiller to protect it for the winter.

That’s how it works. Paid slavery for a few years but the rewards are great. Sure all the Chartered Accountants posting on here are coining it.
