Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

RIP. She was at a friend of mine’s wedding (I was his best man); she was the bride’s aunt. A sound woman by all accounts.

A lady who raised a fine family, may she rest in eternal peace.

A daycent stick. Have 1 myself. What would he be making profit on a normal priced hurl. €20-25?

Poor Ivan

Is all ok in the Canning household? Surely can’t be that bad?

Didn’t Ivan open a pub at Christmas, maybe he’s making more money off that.

I just seen Joe shared this. It’s a sad state of affairs either way, I would have said they were doing really really well.

Is that a misplaced apostrophe in the business name?

For example, you wouldn’t say Ryan Football’s or Murphy Javelin’s.

Collector pieces

Personally hated them.

Sad to see a family business close like that. Ivan and Ollie were the finest to deal with

What an odd way to position a hurley to store it

Ash supplies are extremely hard got, just about every ash tree in the country has been wiped out by ash dieback.

Isn’t Torpey making bamboo hurleys these days?

It was for a photograph, are you actually serious :grinning:

How much were Canning hurls to buy, out of curiosity.

Tell this cunt nothing lads.

Mid to upper range. I never really liked them tbh, but that is a really strange and unhappy tale if true.

You’d think they would have had one more go at the ploughing.

Be really sad to see traditional hurley making die out
