Joe Canning, Unquestionably the GOAT

Nash isn’t even from Cork sure

Bubbles isn’t at Kelly’s level. Lovely hurler on the ball but he hasn’t shown anything approaching the grit of Kelly.

EOIn kelly tipp is the only player to come close to shefflin in my lifetime. A remarkable hurler.

Paddy Stapleton more or less said that unless Bubbles ups the fitness levels over the coming winter he wont reach the heights that he is capable of. I’d say he must annoy the shit out of Michael Ryan as I doubt hes too tolerable to that sort of effort.

Interesting to see how Tipp “winter” .

Will Ryan stay?

Hmmm… I believe he’s moved into a fairly challenging day job in recent months so I wouldn’t be surprised if he walked.

You think Eoin Kelly was better than Joe Canning?

I do

2006 :smirk:

Exactly. Ye can have him back in 2019. I think collins needs another year to get the mentality right. Then we’re sorted

Michael Ryan probably has am overall better bodyfat % himself.

There seems to always be something both crafty but relaxed about alot of Killenaule hurlers. They produce some excellent hurlers.

Eoin Kelly was something else. Not saying canning isn’t, he absolutely is, but Kelly was a ridiculous player. I am not brillant at remembering exact games or oppositiin but i do remember Kelly literally playing teams on his own when Tipp were not great. He won an awful lot of the frees he put over himself.

2006 against Limerick being one - Think Limerick were eight points up and Kelly scored about 16 points of their 22 total - Practically one man team.

Himself and Reale had some great battles

Reale did a decent job on him in the trilogy in 07 if I remember correctly – Wasn’t a vintage Tipp era tho.

He’s held in high regard for a lad that didn’t score much from play in All-Ireland finals. Defo didn’t score in 3 out of the 4 he played in, even if one was as a sub. Don’t know if he scored form play in 2001. Ollie Canning always had him in his pocket.
